I also got a gym ball, am I too early to be using it ? I'm 32 weeks atm and picked it up as was out and about. If I am not too early to use it - what am I supposed to do on it lol ?? Clueless!!!!

No not too early! I use mine to sit on instead of the sofa in the evenings if I'm uncomfortable. Makes you have correct posture and helps keep baby in a good position.

urrgggh all this talk of child benefit/ tax credits etc, I've not even thought about that yet! OH is self employed so prob makes it more complicated than it should be. He needs to ask his accountant about claiming paternity leave £ too....
Another job to go on the list for when I'm on mat leave.

Feeling really stretched today. Especially at the top of my bump.
Looking forward to a quiet night in with the oh.

I signed my oh up to the boots parenting club too, so got a second round of vouchers with a longer date.
That was a good deal becs!
When I went to get the free bag there were no pampers in the right size pack, so they let me buy the cheaper boots equivalent instead.

25 + 1 today. Time seems to be going fast and dragging all at once

Have my next midwife appointment tomorrow :)

Out of interest where have you purchased your nursery furniture from?

Totally agree with you about the time - it's weird how it feels like it's dragging but before you know it you're baby will be here. I have felt like every week has gone so slow but I remember being 6 weeks pregnant like it was about 5 mins ago, now I'm 35!!!

I'm probably going to be no help with the nursery furniture as ours is all mix and match - bits from IKEA, Argos and eBay. However I love it - I'm almost on the verge of being able to post pictures!!!!

I know that Becca will tell you NOT to go to Mothercare!! :rotfl:

I think Kiddicare have some pretty good offers on nursery furniture - think a few people on here have mentioned them before.

For anyone washing baby clothes/going to be soon, Amazon have huge 66 wash boxes of fairy non bio powder for £11 at the moment. I figured that should last me a few months so I got some today :-D

We've got our nursery furniture from Mamas and Papas and it's brilliant quality. :) We've also got a toy storage drawer/bench thing from Ikea and it's brilliant, you pull a drawer out instead of lifting a lid which means we can store things on top too. :)

OH has changed his mind about wanting baby to come early because he's caught my cold. :( He's worried about not being able to hold his own baby because he's snotty! :o

Thanks for the tip about the Boots stuff Becs- I signed up to the club a while ago but lost the card and vouchers as soon as they arrived so just signed up again with my other e-mail, hope the voucher arrives in time! :p

For those looking at finances, make sure you know what your partner will get for paternity leave as it may not be a full wage, think it's £134/week statutory and so in lost wage it cost us around £800 net for DH to have those two weeks off but it was the only way he could get time off from the day baby was born- if he had booked leave for around the due date it would have been too late

Birdie tell your DH I've got tonsilitis and still doing 90% of the care for my three week old and he's fine :) you just get on with it when it's your own as the germs are in the house anyway so if they're guna get it they're guna get it x

Also meant to mention I got my emmas diary packs, had all 3 to get, so lots of nice freebies. Our boots didn't have any in stock but argos did.

I say you're never too early for a gym ball but that makes me sound like a right decrepit old lady lol. I've been using mine for a couple of weeks already and I'm only 25 weeks. It's really good for posture, and hips. It's also comfier than sitting on the couch a lot of the time!!

If you google pregnancy exercises for the gym ball my OH did that and found some good exercises. I sit and bounce gently for a bit (careful though as sorry TMI but doing so gives me wind :D) and also I swivel my hips round in a circle and figures of eight. But if you google you'll get more info :)

Boo for having tonsilitis but good to hear your little man isn't worse off for it! I said he'd just have to be careful about kissing him... which made him confused because why would he be kissing his boy?!?! LOL, we come from very different families, mine are kissers but his Dad never kissed him! :p
