I've gone for the Milton cold water steriliser, may end up with another at a later date but I just love the smell of the Milton and a few friends swore by it.

Hi ladies. Hope there's some news of baby for boldies very soon and congrats Firefly x

I had a manual pump (tommy tippee) last time but a friend gave me a medela swing which was a lot more use. However, I wasn't a big fan of expressing and dd only had the odd bottle here and there because it was too much faff to deal with all the sterilising bottles as well as having to find time to sit attached to the pump!
Certainly worth a try but bear in mind expressing is not as effective as the baby going on direct and some women can't express much (I think if I had done it more often I would have got more milk each try but I never did get in the habit).

34+3 now. Moses basket is in the loft along with baby clothes, not washed a thing for him, nothing packed for hospital, carseat still in the shed, need to clear boxes out of our room so there is somewhere for baby boys bed to go, not ordered tens machine. Basically not ready at all!! Hubby will be up in the loft tomorrow...

Thanks for all the responses ladies. My SIL has just offered me her Tommee Tippee mw steriliser so don't need to buy it, and she's also recommended milton tablets too - looks like this is a popular choice so these are on the list now!! :)
As for the breast pump, I'm going to go for the TT manual pump to start with (although will probably wait until baby is born, just in case I cant bf). If I'm good at it, and manual pumping works I might choose to invest in an electric one. SIL also recommends the Medela one but cant quite justify the cost yet... I've put some money aside for any expensive purchases after baby is here so that might be one of them!! :)

Just ordered our isofix base and a moses basket from Kiddicare tonight - we're getting there slowly and surely!!!

    Evening ladies,

I am back from a lovely night out with DH, just what we needed. Mood from earlier has lifted and manage to find some slip on flats in my wardrobe that my feet could fit into! :T

Had lovely meal followed by a few drinks in the restaurant cocktail bar down stairs....found two lovely arm chairs to sit on that had a cushion to support my back, wanted to take the chair home with me!! They had little stools under the table which I sneakily put my feet up on (minus shoes), think I got a few dirty looks when the bar started to get busy and people where looking for places to sit but to be honest I didn't care!! I'm 8 months pregnant and look it, (Goodness I sound horrible......but my feet are 3xnormal size at mo) and there were other seats around. We moved on from there to a few other bars and pubs but by 9pm I was ready for home and DH agreed. :D they were getting busy with the usual Saturday night crowds and being sober....soft drinks are not fun when everyone else is jolly.

Little man has not stopped kicking away since we got in, having his own little party, maybe he wanted to be a dirty stop out!! :rotfl: more like he is buzzing off diet coke!! Was hoping to catch a glimpse of him moving in my belly but every time if lift my top up he goes quiet or kicks from under my bump where I can't see. I'm not sure whether it's too early yet to see feet or hand shapes in my belly (really hope I do see them) certainly getting less room in there. :)

Right, it's nearly 11pm, I am shattered but can feel a night of toilet trips coming my way with the amount I've drunk tonight. :rotfl:

It also doesn't help that I'm worried about us having enough money for my indefinite leave to remain. I don't want to be kicked out of the country 3 week after mini-tm is born, which is when my spousal visa expires (4-July, mini is due 16-June).

Aww Mrs_T_M hugs to you. Are you planning a postal application or a one day service? You could do an application fund. That's what I am doing as I have to change jobs after maternity leave and will have only a month left when I start job searching so have to complete a one day application. The cost is horrendous!

Firefly - congratulations! Glad you are back home and everything turned out ok.

    Con888 - prep machine?

Kerri - so cute! I'm wanting a cuddle now - oh well 3 weeks to go

Squ1rrel - I have a medela swing recommended by friends as I also plan to breastfeed and express from very early on. I bought the haberman feeder bottles as well as regular TT ones. As for sterilising, I haven't decided yet.

C'mon minizee, get a move on. We are waiting! Goodluck BZ
