Depending on where you're going and your skin tone, I would highly recommend Soltan Once SPF30, it's my go-to summer moisturiser, sinks in instantly and does such a lot for my skin that I often don't need even primer  Plus it stays on for up to 8 hours.
If you're going somewhere with a stronger sun than here and you can reapply every couple of hours, the normal spf 50 or 50+ is very good too, I use the once as it's under make-up and I don't go outside the UK.
Thankyou! I am pale (Scottish, pretty much goes without saying) and we're going back to Dubai in October. Temps are around 35 degrees then, I coped well in the sun apart from one day when I missed a small patch at the top of my thigh with SPF 30; I looked like that area had been deep fried
I tend to keep my face out of the sun when lying by the pool but obv, walking to and fro etc was enough to catch it on my upper lip. It was NOT a good look.
I will look at the Soltan Once range as I don't like to go without makeup, even in a place where no one knows me0 -

So, I think I'll just take a palette/travel box for makeup. Unfortunately, Air Frances' Duty Free store on line is strongly tempting me with a Givenchy travel set that may have to find it's way home with me.
I haven't gone on a "real" three week holiday in years. It's different when you go to visit family because you use their washer and don't have to really figure out what to wear.
I'm nearly finished a body scrub, so hopefully, I'll be able to list it before we leave.
I don't get the Benefit love either. I think it's the packaging that does it. Sort of like when TooFaced did the palettes to look like cheezy romance novels from the 1950s. Very pretty to look at but the products aren't always the best. The Balm has some very pretty retro packaging but I've been strong.
Welcome new people, we don't bite.
I hope that you have a wonderful holiday:D
My only Benefit must have is Lemon-Aid, I use it every day and it makes me look wide awake and presentable:rotfl: On a hardly any make up day, Lemon-Aid, eyebrow pencil and a quick coat of mascara and I am good to go.The best thing about the future is that it comes one day at a time. Happy belated birthday littlepinkstars.
Wondercollie - have a lovely holiday.
FizzWhizz - I use an AVON sunscreen factor 30, which is matte but I don't think they still do it but there will be something similar if you have a rep and can look at the book.Debt Free and now a saver, conscious consumer, low waste lifestyler

January seems to be such a long month but I am making some progress and I haven't bought anything in the sales which is fab.
UU's
Benefit porefessional - wmba, this lasted ages even though it was a sample size. Think I could get something as good for less money though.
Beauticology choc shower gel - wnba, I did not like the smell of this and would not use it again.
TA's
Nivea pearl lip balm - hated this as it was way too pearly. It was part of a present so at least I did not waste my money on it.
I also managed to sell some things

I have never had anything Benefit before and I heard all these rave reviews about the They're Real mascara so I put it on my Xmas list and my mum begrudgingly got it for me after grumbling about the price as I think its around £20!
I have started using it and I just dont get the hype...its not that impressive, maybe its just my lashes but I certainly wouldnt get it again once I have used it up. Just not going to tell my mum I dont like it as she will only get annoyed!
Got 3 INS although they are all the same - 3 x packs of Nivea face wipes, my HG. They were 3 for £5 in Boots and normally one pack is £3 so couldnt really say no especially as I was running low anyway.Slimming World Member - Started 05/02/150 -
I'm another one who doesn't get the hype about the Benefit mascaras. At best, I think they're ok. YSL False Lash Effect cannot be beaten, IMO!
One UU for me today. A mini size Molton Brown Ylang Ylang body wash. WNBA as the scent was too subtle really. It was pleasant enough but not long lasting and because it was so faint it wasn't really noticeable during use.
Can any of you ladies recommend a really effective eye make-up remover? Cost doesn't matter really, as long as it's good! I wear non-waterproof mascara and Urban Decay eyeliner most days, with eye shadow for evening. At the moment I use Simple Eye Make Up Remover, but it never seems to remove the last traces and I sometimes have the remains of the eye make up under my eyes the next morning, after cleansing once in the evening and then even after my morning shower.Egg Loan - [strike]£4921.84[/strike] £0!! :j Barclaycard - £3866.47 Legal + Trade - [strike]£2700.96[/strike] £0!! :j Triton - [strike]£1730.89[/strike] £0!! :j Next - [STRIKE]£776.15[/STRIKE] £126.88 Littlewoods - [strike]£217.16[/strike] £0!! :j Housemate - [strike]£1300[/strike] £0!! :j Capital One - [STRIKE]£1652.51[/STRIKE] £1,081.58 Vanquis - [strike]£2337.75[/strike] £375.58

Oil will remove all sorts of eye make up. I use a blend of castor oil and jojoba oil, but you could use coconut oil (although that could cause some people to break out. I've never had problems though) olive oil, baby oil or even vaseline. No more goo hoarding!

I will look at the Soltan Once range as I don't like to go without makeup, even in a place where no one knows me
If it helps, this is the beauty routine I used when I was travelling last year in mostly hot places:
Soltan Once Face SPF 30 in place of moisturiser
Tinted moisturiser (Nivea)
Concealer (Rimmel)
Cream blusher (Maybelline)
Waterproof mascara (also Maybelline)
Tinted lip balm (Burt's Bees)
It was cheap, quick - I could do it in five minutes - and made me look reasonably presentable even when I was at my most dishevelled hair- and clothes-wise!
I also took a black eyeliner pencil and a cheap red lippy so I could do different looks when I wanted to go out in the evening as well, and a pot of Steam Cream as a night time moisturiser/aftersun."A mind needs books as a sword needs a whetstone, if it is to keep its edge." - Tyrion LannisterMarried my best friend 1st November 2014Loose = the opposite of tight (eg "These trousers feel a little loose")Lose = the opposite of find/gain (eg "I'm going to lose weight this year")0
