This wasn't a phishing email was it? I've never been asked to update my password before, although I have had to change it from time to time when I have forgotten it. Anyone else had this?I haven't ever had an email from MSE about anything.
It was a personal message on the site itself. That's why I thought nothing of it !!She calls that a stash? That looks like the bare minimum to me.
Yeh, Amateur pah !:rotfl:Back for the No Buying Toiletries challenge. I pledge to only buy when I run out of a product that is not already in my stash no matter what wonderful emails land in in my Inbox or threads I read on MSE re: glitches!

That's what I got. I'm going to try and message them re: the problem I'm having.
How did everyone else do resisting the boots sale?
Have looked just now and am so glad I picked up the handwash I saw at weekend as all that was left was Soap & Glory Hand Food and Hand Wash.Yes! It would be like a giant game of 3D Tetris.
This made me laugh. xxBack for the No Buying Toiletries challenge. I pledge to only buy when I run out of a product that is not already in my stash no matter what wonderful emails land in in my Inbox or threads I read on MSE re: glitches!

yep that's me and I also know I have some from Christmas 2012 still in carrier bags
Anyway no B@@ts near me so no INs - that's progress
OMG it just gets worse! :rotfl: Well, congratulations for facing up to it and how about taking them out of the bag now? To overcome the problem, you have to look it square in the face.minerva_windsong wrote: »

I'm trying to put myself on a total ban, although I have had the odd temptation. I 'discovered' a forgotten bag yesterday full of all kinds which has strengthened my resolve and led to me buying NOTHING in the Boots sale, as compared to £195 last year!
Seriously? Nothing down from £195. Here, have a MAJOR pat on the back *Pats noelphobic generously but not too hard on the back* :T :T :T :T :TPlease call me 'Pickle'

 :rotfl: I'm not sure what else to say! Have you read it? If not, perhaps that's the way to go. If you have, perhaps run over it again to revisit first principles again?! :rotfl:noelphobic wrote: »I got a PM asking me to change my password. Haven't done it as yet.
Hmm...I've never had one of those. A PM is different to a regular email/message, though. If anyone is worried, I guess it might be worth asking a tame, friendly MSE guide/techie.noelphobic wrote: »I had the same problem. I HATE the Boots website. Why can't it update when something goes out of stock? There's 600 items listed as being in the sale but most of them are out of stock. You have to trawl through the whole lot and if you hit the back button you lose your place or it throws stuff out of your trolley.
You are SO right! It's like the site crashing all the time: they know full well that there will be a major nighttime onslaught, so why don't they just get the site in fit enough shape to deal with it? It's not like it has been the first - or last - time it will happen!I will get around to my stash pics, bit sidelined lately, plus I smashed my iPad this morning so that's £200 gone
Ouch. My sympathies. I did the same to my smartphone just before Christmas.

Hi! Please can I join this challenge? I'm still using Soap and Glory that I got for Christmas years ago!
Trying to be more frugal this year and hoping that I get to use everything up! Thus making more space and saving money in the mean time
I know I have to buy more face wash as mine has nearly run out!LBM: NOVEMBER 2011 || debt free date:30/06/15 || The Fighting Debt Army: #442 || Frugal Living Challenge 2018 || January 2018 Grocery £1.22/£100 ||0 -

Hi kb_soma, welcome, the more the merrier, we are a friendly, if sometimes not very successful group:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:, but we do try and many succeed, it just takes some of us (me) longer than others to develop new strategies to lessen the buying, particularly when 70% discounts are mentioned, although I could ask to borrow a halo this year as B**ts did not get any of my cash:money:The best thing about the future is that it comes one day at a time. Welcome kb soma. From past experience and from what other forumites have said Soap & Glory does tend to go off quickly so maybe you should earmark these products first.Back for the No Buying Toiletries challenge.
