Have painted my toes with Nails inc Victoria - no-one sees but me but polish makes me happy.

I last posted that I was going to repaint my fingers and toes. In the end I repainted my fingers using OPI Nein Nein Nein OK Fine but can't remove the gellish colour from my toe nails with my ordinary nail polish remover! Any tips anyone?
I was wondering today about using shower gel instead of shampoo, how different can they be?! They have Philosophy 3in1 after all. I have no stash of shampoo left but 34 shower gels. I remember in a holiday emergency using S&G Clean on Me instead of shampoo a couple of times. My hair survived but was maybe a little dry!

I looked at my L'Occitane shower gel and Timotei Pure shampoo and the first 3 ingredients are the same so I think I might try a little experiment and use the shower gel instead for every second wash. A good opportunity to get through the shower gel stash a bit quicker!

Let me know how this goes. I could do with trying this. I cut open the bottle of Aussie shampoo we have on the go last night and there is enough for one application in there. I then have only one bottle of Pantenne shampoo to use but loads of shower gel.
Back for the No Buying Toiletries challenge. I pledge to only buy when I run out of a product that is not already in my stash no matter what wonderful emails land in in my Inbox or threads I read on MSE re: glitches!

Welcome back returnees and welcome to all newbies...
I have loads of travel size conditioners, I don't use conditioner myself and I only use tea tree conditioner on the girls. I was wondering if it would be possible to add some tea tree oil to the conditioner, what do you think?

I used to do this when I was a registered childminder, donkey's years ago, for head louse  prevention. Tea tree shampoo and conditioner was hard to find then.
The best way is to pour the conditioner into a cupped palm and mix a couple of drops of oil in to the conditioner in your palm with a finger. That ensures even distribution of the oil. Neat oil is strong, so use with caution.

    Shower gel as shampoo...
My son hasn't used shampoo in many years, only shower gels. He has short hair that never gets more than an inch and a half or so in length.
Lots of the men's shower gels are for hair and body. I've done it myself with OS citrussy gels (Lime, Lemon and Tea Tree) when my hair was a little greasy. Shower creams such as OS Shea Butter and Honey might be a milder option for drier hair. The minty, mentholly gels are a bit strong to use as shampoo, I found.

When I was researching home gel polish kits I found this:-
    http://www.chickettes.com/how-to-remove-gelish-polish/

I bought a cheap gel polish remover from *bay, but I have read good reviews of a superdrug one if you have a shop near you.

I put the gel base and top coat on to protect my nails so only had 2 coats to remove, but I soaked pad in remover made a foil parcel around each nail and then sat with my hands on microwave wheat bag thingy had a cuppa and read for a while, about 20 minutes later it just rubbed off in flakes without any pressure, I think with all the layers on it would lift off whole. HTH :)

Hello Everyone and a Happy New Year!

2014 has started a bit iffy for me as the gales have shifted the little porch extension on my front door enough to let water run down the inner wall and accross the ceiling! Handyman came today to look, popped in some squidgy stuff as a temp measure, and said he'd come back when everything dried out! Then on Friday dishwasher packed up; the engineer came this morning and found nothing wrong with it, but the wall socket was kaput - so that cost me £70 to find out, and I've still got to have the electrician in! Dishwasher working fine plugged in to another socket. Still, people are much worse off in some places, so I can't really complain.

Have logged in to report an IN which arrived today. Gatineau Melatogenine Futur Plus Masque, 200ml. I don't think I have any face masks in the stash, so I din't feel too bad ordering this, and it's so big I can't see I'll need another one for at least 6 months! All I have to do now is remember to use it!

Enjoy the rest of your day, and fingers crossed with the weather.

    UUs
Bare Minerals Prime Time Brightening Foundation Primer 30ml - Decent primer but in rubbish packaging, WNBA.
Soft & Gentle Extra fresh deodorant 150ml - WBA
Lancôme Dreamtone Fair 01 - 5ml - Have the full size and really like it
Yves Rocher Lily of the Valley EDT 0.7ml - WNB the full size, not keen!
Chanel No. 5 Sensual Elixir 50ml - Part UU/repurpose, this is a melted rose candle moment, it had been open ages and the scent had changed a LOT. For a long time I didn't know you were meant to rub it on your skin, I thought you were meant to dab it on like perfume and didn't like the consistency. I don't think Chanel do it now anyway but WNBA, it's now in a diffuser bottle to see if it works that way instead.

    Elemis Pro-Collagen Marine Cream 30ml
Elemis Maximum Moisture Day Cream 20ml

Buying minis of products is pretty costly. Maybe you should invest in some refillable bottles (I've previously picked these up from Superdrug) and decant products into these to take to your other places of residence.

Well done on your sales. I was going to ebay some things yesterday but it turned into a disaster. Took photos of the products then our stupid PC would not recognise the drive that the SD card was in. Then went on a real go slow. Then crashed.

I know, that's why I said I don't use them! I keep fullsize versions of the basics (shampoo, conditioner, body wash, facewash, and perfume) at each house. Just moisturisers/serums/makeup that I'm carrying between places now as can't afford to keep a stock of those in multiple places. I tried refillable bottles for flights but wasn't a fan - labels came off in the shower so trying to tell what was what was a pain! I'd use them for holidays but when I'm just flying back and forth to the same place it's easier to just have supplies at each end.

If you've got a smartphone I found eBay so much easier to use on that than on my computer, no transferring photos etc.

Just took my last ebay item to the post office and nearly came away with a Nip+Fab gift set as the PO is in Tesco and I happened to wander past them... Instead bought toothpaste and got it free cos they overcharged me at the till!

This mask is the HG of HG's for me, I love that I can use it on my eyelids as well as face. I had a nasty virus which seemed to last for ages just before Christmas and left my skin looking so dry and wrinkled. On the days I have been at home (or not gone out until later) I have been applying this thinly and then kept reapplying several times throughout the day, the improvement has been fantastic. I may well run out of it towards the end of January and hope that it is still in stock in this mega size then (that would allow me to keep my no IN's for January intact if I could order at end of month and receive it in February:o:o

    .

If it's a light colour gel, just paint over it. Otherwise I use the sensationail gel nail kit at home so use the foil wraps as Maddie describes and use get 'em off acetone polish. It's about £3 from boots. I also have the sensationail tool to help lift the gel but haven't used it yet.

Day 1 back at work and I made a concerted effort to leave on time. Or at least no more than 30 mins after I was supposed to finish, practically the same thing for me. Managed to both take and eat homemade soup, and pick up loads of veggies from the market to make more freezer soup! Health goddess :T
