I found £40 earlier and handed it at the local police station.
Although it is highly unlikely anyone will come forward to claim the money. I had visions of someone struggling because they had lost £40. I felt that it was the best thing to do.
I guess that it's down to personal choice!
I've kind of given up on reporting my roadkill finds as I've not managed to find 30p since late October!
However, I found a £10 in our work reception this week. I too handed it in, it was in an area the general public have access to but as we have an entire floor of call centre staff and I know roughly that they earn a pittance I hoped the owner would ask in reception. Within two hours I have the loveliest email from the person who'd lost it thanking me for handing it in.
I got a huge buzz out of knowing I'd done the right thing. Had I found it on the floor of a pub or in the street I'd probably have done differently but I think in the situation the right thing was handing it in.LBM 17th Oct13 - SC DMP - DFD 10th Feb 2018
