Stepping into 2014- walking in My Shoes with Mooloo

Morning from a very sluggish Moo!
Still not 100%. Just made a cup of tea, and reading my emails etc etc.
In two minds wether to go into the recycling centre or not. Don't feel brilliant, and not looking forward to the drive. I know it's only 24 miles but it is a pain. Last week staying at home, I managed to earn more then my two days working there would have been, and all with no travel costs, or childcare.
It's time to seriously consider what I am doing for them, and if I can do it for myself now.
If the thermal bags keep selling, then I could work from home more, and that was my original plan. It would mean having to source my own clothes for Retrending if I still do that kind of thing, and of course I would only get paid when things sold, instead of a weekly pay check, but I could probably make it work now.
Today isn't the day to make the decision, as not feeling well is influencing my judgement.
But most of my family and friends think I should be doing the designing etc for myself.
As the workroom comes to life, and I learn to work regular hours in there it certainly would be easier. As long as I do work and not sidetrack. When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.0 -
'Morning Mooloo, :hello:
Good to see you concentrating on yourself, for a change.
Reckon you could be onto a winner with the thermal cooking bags - just seen the 'photos - they are big, aren't they?
Hope your cuppa perks you up ready for today, and it will be a good day for you.0 -
Yes please!
The wider the field the better.
I have a lot of fabric stash to use up after all. Mind you eventually it will need to buy more polystyrene balls- unless I get another donated bean bag or two!
We are actually going to be grown ups and go out to dinner!
Consider it done! :j:money:0 -
Mooloo, your orders are coming in thick and fast so your small business is born.
Just a thought, have you thought of doing an 'open day' demonstration for a small group of maybe 2-4 people to show how it's done. I'm sure a strategically placed poster would encourage people on tight budgets or eco friendly people to be curious. Word of mouth is a lucrative thing, this small business woman will contest to that. If you're not camera shy perhaps a YouTube video demo would be a good thing to have a link to on your FB page too?
I am cooking shoulder of lamb in my pink marshmallow thermal bag today and will be blogging on my new blog about it with a link to your FB page.:money:0 -
Just a thought...is there any reason that you can't do your retrending from home? Why can't you bring home a stash, retrend and then take it back to them to sell?
Seems silly going to work over there, when you have everything you need at home.0 -
I had planned to do a You Tube video, of cooking/using the bags, but then I ended up lending my bag to my Ex husband, when he took DGD away at Easter, and I didn't get it back.! So I need to make myself another one I suppose. But concerntrating on the bags that are ordered first.
I did go into the recycle centre, but I really didn't feel very well, and came home before I had even been there an hour.
I did mention to my friend who works there, that I am considering stopping going in, and she thinks that I probably am right to start branching out on my own.
If I carry on going to them, then its becoming a lazy way of getting a few £ each week. Where as if I am at home, and I concerntrate on Mooloos on the whole, I may not immediately make money, but that I could sell things with my label, and not theirs, then when there is a profit, it would be mine.
I will consider all my options before I make a final decision.
I came home, via the supermarket to get the blackcurrent for DGD and some mince etc that I didn't get yesterday in Oxford. I also popped into the antique centre in Brackley to pick up another note book, from one of the stands there. I have told DGD that I will get a lovely book like granny's so that she is encouraged to do some writing.
I have had a message about my bags, from here, so I have replied to the lady with a link to my facebook page. But it was a task and a half, and I had to come onto the laptop to do it. Cant copy links some how on my mobile. I am sure there must be a way, I just don't know it.
Time to go and have a lie down, before I have to go and get DGD from her after school club.
I am hoping that I will feel much better later, as I have two bags to make. (Which will make up for the lack of wages for today). When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.0 -
I had my first meal in the thermal bag Mooloo. It was DELICIOUS and I have linked your FB page in two pages. I've had 78 views already on my blog and as it's new I hope things will increase. I'm rooting for you, I said to you before, you're inspirational and unstoppable. I hope you feel better soon and get your work/life balance as you'd like it to be
I will certainly be referring family and friends (and strangers) to you if they show an interest in thermal cooking.:money:0 -

thanks Chi-me.
I'm glad you like your bag.perhaps I can quote you if I get around to any literature!
Elaine is doing a recipe book, which I hope to be able to share when it's finished.
I don't feel up to working tonight. I'm hoping that I will be back on form tomorrow. Even if I am not, I still have two bags to make and get posted.
When DGD has gone to bed, I think I will be going back again myself.
I'm trying to be kind to myself so that I am fit and well ASAP.
I have a lot to get too work on .
Twin 2 has text me to say TWIN1 has disowned her. I told her not to worry, ignore it and let her calm down, she's back hanging around with the girl from the family from hell, so being influenced and harassed by them really.
Such a shame. When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.0 -

Quote away my sweet, free advertising is the best and please do link me to any literature too, it's boring to do but vital.
I'm also a small business owner (healthcare) and know how ill health can impact and how the work/life balance affects us. Every day is different.
I've got an old school friend very interested in thermal bags as I posted a gushy post with my lamb photos on my FB page.
I have two girls, both grown up, the eldest has mild autism... autism aside - GIRLS, crikey!!!! I also have a son, poor lad lives with his sisters but at least his GF can stay whenever he wants, unlike when he lived with us:money:0 -
I am still not right, so going to call the doctors I think.
Twin2's DLA still got paid into my account, so I've transferred it all to her, so she can repay the family that's taken her in.
Her sister, twin1, has disowned her! So she's upset, but I can't do or say anything that can help, twin1, is back in the clutches of the girl from th family from hell.
DS is still home hunting, but nothing suitable at the moment.
Biggest rang, I've got DGD2, and her BFs little girl on Wednesday, as her Mum is on her honeymoon. But I only have to do it until lunchtime, as it's DGD1's Sports Day.
Which reminds me she has to have a purple t shirt for tomorrow! Dam I forgot, I could have looked at the weekend when I was in Oxfords Primarni!
I am working from home, so hoping to get the two bags ordered, and hopefully another one at least cut out, as I want to get a stock up on the website.
Time to get up, DGD needs to have a hair wash! I wasn't up to it last night. When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.0
