Oh I know! I am far too soft and gullible when it comes to family! ( sorry I let myself down as well!)

I think we Mums are all guilty of that in one way or another. I know I am.

We can all give in to family from time to time but let yourself down - NEVER EVER EVER.. Don't even think that for a moment. You have been and continue to be so strong for all your family, please don't let anything undermine your knowledge of that. Your main priorities should continue to be your DGD and now your business, which will enable you you to take care of yourself (yes needs to be a priority) and DGD into the future.

It's one thing after another at the moment. DS's bike chain broke this morning, so the pair of them will have to sleep here for a few days so that they can get to work. Both are now working here in The town.
My helper today is unwell, and was not really on the ball. Told her not to come tomorrow if she is still not well.
My Approved Food order has arrived. Plenty of cake mix etc for the coming Christmas effort. My first nod to the season really.
Shop window had all my Christmas stuff displayed, and it's nearly all gone now! One Santa dress left!
I started embroidering aprons with Christmas Bells, and the words ding dong. But had to get on with my proper work.

Long may it continue I suppose! I'd just love to have the energy to create as well as repair.
Dry Cleaners are keeping me busy with some jobs most days too.
I will need to allot making time when I do my spreadsheet and make a few bits before I repair stuff, and see if that will work as long as my lead times don't suffer too much!

Another busy day ahead planned. Aprons to embroider for a food company. If time more Christmas themed embroideries to give the children to add to tomorrow's stocking course.
My son and his GF are here and I took her to work this morning at 7am ( she works locally- when she goes in!! DS worked till midnight last night in his new job here.
They looked at a house yesterday, but the estate agents want £240 to do their checks on them before they can apply and that is non refundable. I know it's the same for everyone, but it seems so unfair. They only have that one house on the books in their price range, and the landlord might not accept the councils Guarantor deposit scheme as it's a new thing here.
I don't have the money to help. I did that in June for the estate agents etc that deal with their current property.
Bank of Mum is empty. Credit Card of Mum is creeping up and I don't have the funds to clear it all in one go anymore. The lack of my emergency funds now, is alarming me.
So Christmas is going to be a frugal affair this year! But we have been there before so I know I will manage.
As long as work covers it's own bills and I don't have to add anything from my own pocket it will be ok.
I will soon rebuild it, if I focus, and say no!
Time to do the school run.

  • Glad the shop is storming onwards mooloo, have you thought about cut off dates for Christmas alterations & Christmas down time/extended lead times at all? Not necessarily shop shut but time for you to recoup & do some makes :)

Mooloo - don't forget that DS and GF have another three parents who could put their hands in their pockets ....you aren't the only parent! Also it's prime time now for bar work for DS, so he could be doing all the overtime that's available for now.
