  • And the grumble of the day relates to my crown being dislodged by a cashew nut. Cue one request for an emergency appointment on Monday. Hopefully it won't cost too much.

  • Your holidays sound like a great incentive to get super organised with the pennies.

I can't build up any enthusiasm for paying off the mortgage early yet, but I may look at that in 2015. Well done for tackling the mortgage overpayments as well as pensions etc. Your guns are blazing on all fronts. Sorry about your crown, hope that the bill is reasonable.

If you don't mind me asking, what was the Sainsbury ad. I missed that.

    Have a great February.

  • Here goes with the brave words. I've decided that I'm wasting far too much time sitting on my !!! waiting for the next payday while the clutter becomes more widespread. I'm going to fire up main computer, transfer my op funds then update my 2014 goals inc admitting to the 2lb weight gain. This most probably relates to the !!! sitting. I then have to stay away from this site at least until 8 this evening when I hope to have positives to report.

Hi there, it was a post about Nectar points, and an ad, sorry about the confusion. I haven't mastered quotes yet or smilies.

I look forward to reading your goals!

I love holiday plans. I can't wait to book my holiday in Sept but I have to wait until OH books his holidays in work before I can book:)
  • So today was NSD. Cleared out more toiletries to go to shelter, made soup for lunch to use up veggies that needed eaten, watched the rugby. Yay!
Identified 2 items for next free listing weekend, both branded so might actually exceed £10. Just really want to get on top of all the "stuff" we have accumulated. Having dithered over buying a new coat, I'm now not sure that I love it. Decisions, decisions. To keep or return. Didn't do as much as I could have but I'd forgotten about the six nations when I made my sweeping statement this morning. At least some things are sorted.

    Today I'm grateful for

  • So, yesterday a cancelled activity gives rise to a £27 saving. I would normally op the mortgage by this amount but knowing next month will be a struggle, put this in an envelope to be used then. I'm due to return to work fully on Friday and I'm terrified. What if I physically can't do it, my knee still causes me pain. What if my NSD all go out the window and I go back to buying rubbish just cos it seems like a good idea at the time. What if I revert to the high sugar snacks that mess with my diabetes, make me feel perma tired and take all my spare change? What if I'm no longer up to the job I need to clear the mortgage? What if my anxiety pushes my tummy into free fall and me into a spiral where I don't actually do anything but spin from one thing to another. I just want to hide away from the world. Plus, after telling OH how I felt about somethings that he's done recently he just withdrew and went to work without saying goodbye. Sometimes I wish he would row about things just to clear the air. Instead he just disengages. Right now, I just want to hide under the covers

  • Hi In need of direction. You are doing the right thing, which is admit to yourself how you are feeling, rather than bury it. Well done!

My DH deals with confrontation the same way, he goes into his 'cave', try not to take it too personally, I am sure he loves you and just doesn't have easy answers.

You are going to be just fine. What you need is a plan xx.

  • Thanks RBR. With your words ringing in my ears, I'm off to clear some bookshelf space. It won't tackle the earlier issues but should give me a sense of purpose and hopefully of achievement.
