So, it's been a weird few days. On fri I realised I haven't seen my cash card since wed so that was cancelled and another ordered. This, to date, resulted in two cash withdrawals from credit card (ouch) as I needed euros. The dd fiasco where her purse was stolen and she'd no way home from dublin, picking overseas sis up and partially catching up with her, my work right hand going down with the tummy bug while another had a dr appointment, etc. etc. still, last night I went to the jog club continuation. It's not for me. I'm not at that stage yet but am going to go to the twenty min workout at the start.
Anyhow, today is one day closer to the weekend. Just need to get into work and get my head down. Managed to pick up OH's main present with 10% off and cashback plus two cashmere cardigans that are my present from him. They were reduced and had a further 30% off so that was good.
DS had surgery yesterday but texted last night to say he was home and all had gone well. This is when I hate that he lives in London but like everyone was saying re dd, it's a parent thing.
Anyhow, I can now see the prospect of time off at Christmas.

Absolutely TGIF. Was on site in dublin all day yesterday so didn't get home til after eight but had remembered to put out the advent calendars before I left home. Of my two meetings, one went well and the other has put additional pressure on for next week. DS will be home on Sunday evening and sis goes back Tuesday morning so I'm doing dinner on Monday so they can catch up as he would be quite close to her kids. Money wise,it's been quite good though that may have been due to my cash card not being available until wed evening and, although OH has a card on my account, I didn't like to ask for additional pocket money. I have been quite spendy on diesel though as I've been ferrying my sis around quite a bit. I also owe her money as she picked up a pair of limited edition trainers that will be the icing on the cake for dd's Christmas. Ok, time to get a wiggle on and to get Friday out of the way.
Hope everyone's journey to the weekend is a pleasant one.Mortgage at 01.01.14 £119,481.83:eek: today £0 Emergency fund £5.5/5.5k & £200/200 cash.:jWeight 24/02/19 14st 7lb now 12st determined to stop defining myself by my mistakes. two weeks appear to have evaporated in a flurry of year end stuff in work, familyish stuff at home and just hassle in between. i'm conscious of not wanting to wish my life away but really feel like i need this year to be over.
my mother is becoming increasingly more difficult, i've decided i want be going to see her until the Christmas visit. it's a shame, i feel guilty but a need for self preservation has kicked in.
moneywise, things have been so so. i'd some wins using vouchers for present shopping and some treats and covered the sainsbugs goodies with nectar points. however, i got clamped on fri in Dublin by inadvertently parking in a loading bay. it wasn't marked on the ground and i have a parking ticket. i'm going to query this but it really messed with my day as i couldn't get home in time to pick up a prescription, etc. plus i'm £67 worse off. today, i finally got around to writing the christmas cards. with the exception of one duty one, they were all to people i like to keep in touch with so that's a positive. we also indulged in some comfort food mainly sourced from M&S. amazing and just what the doctor ordered.
This week i'm unlikely to get any time off but head down and hope for the best. I've promised myself that i will do all the money stuff between christmas and new year. fingers crossed it all comes good.
i'm more excited about time of work than about Christmas, is that a sign of age or what?
today i am grateful for
dd who helps me laugh about hurtful comments
