Well feeling a little more positive.
Have kept up the healthier choices and have eaten fairly well and exercised every day. (Not done my exercise for today but will be doing that later)
I have applied for lots of jobs0 -
Hey you are doing well Bookworm, keep it up :-)
What are you doing on the exercise front? I'm trying to get motivated at the moment but not finding it easy!0 -
Brilliant post Bookworm - glad you are starting to be a bit more positive.
I am not particularly good at growing things but I have a bash, certainly come the summer I will be growing mixed leaves as I just cut them as I need them and it is cheaper than buying bagged salads.
I am still off with a chest infection and my GP has signed me off for another week, college are not pleased and on Monday will be ringing me with a finish date because I cannot have more than 3 weeks' off sick so I will have to contact the dole office and start signing on again. I cannot help being ill - I suppose I could hang around at a cold bus stop and get on a bus full of germy folks and go and spread my germs around at college but I cannot even do that because my GP says no.
Wish I could be good at competitions - I have won a hamper of handmade soaps, a large box of assorted candles and a goody bag from my local police for providing a Christmas tip but these are my only comp wins.0 -
Del, if you have a decent sized garden you can get some good berry bushes from Aldi. They also do decent strawberry plants as well.
My oh is getting in to making chocolates so I used her chocolate 'mouse' mould to make some vodka chocolate mice (with strawberry liquorice string tails) and also some vodka chocolate penguins (to much mix made for the mouse mould). To my surprise, they actually set.Never Knowingly Understood.

Ahh thankyouWell I have started walking to ease me into the whole exercise thing. I have done 30 Day Shred a couple of times (available on Youtube) and it is really effective for me but I really didn't feel like I could face that at the moment - I am planning on beginning that again and I definitely recommend it. So I have just been making sure I go for at least a 30 minute walk each day/night and then going on Youtube and searching ten minute dance workouts and doing one of those a day too. It's not much but hoping I can work my way up! Good luck with it, I know it is so hard...I just find putting music on which I love helps.. even if you are just dancing about to it, it is much more enjoyable!

Ahh thanks a lot Horace. Sorry to hear that you are still feeling unwell. Nothing is worth risking your health for! As the saying goes 'Health is Wealth.' So look after yourself and put your health first! You would think a college would be more understanding really, after all you cannot help being ill!
You sound like you are a dab hand at the gardening/growing thing! I really would love to give it a go. I have managed to get strawberries to grow before but they were given to me already potted and planted and I just left them to it. So can't really take much of the credit for that! :rotfl:
Get well soon and hope that the college situation works itself out too. I understand how much of a worry it all can be (dole, losing your place on the course ) but try to concentrate on getting better and deal with those problems when and if they happen xxDel, if you have a decent sized garden you can get some good berry bushes from Aldi. Hi Patman
Yes my garden is quite big actually, I have plenty of room to be growing things so I have no excuse. I will look in Aldi now that you mention it, I really would love to grow as much as I can and be as sustainable as possible. I love fruit especially berries so that sounds like a plan!
Oh that sounds amazing - I am a self-confessed chocoholic! Your creations sound absolutely delicious! What a fantastic hobby, I bet they tasted devine!x

A little bit of an update from me. I have sort of forgotten where I am up to as I haven't been on here a few days and am all confused now!
* Walked a lot!
* Called in on my sister and BIL and took them a little 'care package' down. They were taking their dog (used to be our family pet) to the vets and unfortunately they got a bit of bad news so hoping that the dog will be OK.
* Applied for 11 jobs so far this weekend.0 -
They do say you all have a little luck now and again.
I'm surprised that it was the Police who spotted his worn brake pads. It is usually VOSA who carry-out such a stringent check.
With a large garden you can plant a few rows of potatoes along with carrots, parsnips, runner beans and so much more. There are plenty of websites dedicated to those with little or no gardening knowledge.
You could even keep an eye out on freegle/freecycle for a greenhouse.Never Knowingly Understood.

Oh that all sounds really good. My mum is very green-fingered so I will get her involved to help me I think. I love fruit and vegetables so I would really love to be growing a lot of my own. I am having a new fence put in in the summer and I am going to have to rearrange my garden/plants a little so I think this is the perfect opportunity to get planting!0 -
Happy February! A little update from me.
It was my sister's birthday yesterday so I took her card and gifts down to her house, had a nice homemade cupcake and we all visited my brother at his house to watch the football/catch up. They made me a roast dinner and it was lovely to have a nice chilled out family day all togetherMy dad gave me bus fare so I did not have to walk home so that pleased me!
I have been sticking more to the healthier lifestyle and I honestly do feel amazingly so much more happy. I have a hospital appointment coming up soon and usually I would stress myself out to death over it but I am surprisingly much more calm and in control at the minute over it. Lets see how long that lasts :rotfl: I just feel lighter and that I have much more control over my life.
Still been applying for numerous jobs
I don't know if I have managed to remember everything, probably not but never mind. Will try and be a bit more active on here now, been quite busy lately! xx0 -
Haven't logged in a lot lately. Not sure why. Have kept up with exercise and eating healthier. Have lost a little bit of weight now, not a lot but enough to keep me motivated I guess. Plus it has saved me money not buying junk food/ sweets etc so must continue with that.
Oh and lots of job searching as per. But, I did receive a very exciting email today saying I have been shortlisted for an admin role and I am awaiting a telephone interview this week. :T0
