    Shiny new diary :)
    Keep posting!

Thankyou for your kind welcome :) I will definitely try to keep at it, I love keeping diaries and writing lists so hopefully mixed with the advice and support of all you lovely people it will be even more enjoyable for me!
Well done Bookworm - you do sound very organised (much more so than I am!! )

Will look forward to hearing your progress
    :T

Thankyou so much! I am trying, I am not always the best but I like the idea of going into the New Year in a focused and positive mood. Keeping a diary like this really does help! :) xx
  • Hello :hello:I will follow your journey if that's ok? I find this time of year tricky, this depressing weather doesn't help either x x x New Year = new start, best of luck to you

    Hi Northern Lassy,

Yes that is absolutely great thankyou :) I really appreciate you following my journey. Hopefully it will be a productive and positive one for both of us. Yes I agree, I definitely suffer more with the bad weather and the isolation of being stuck at home even more. I agree New Year is definitely a great time for a New Start. I hope you have a wonderful New Year and great things come your way  xx

    Happy New Year!

Feeling a bit delicate today but not down to over-indulging! I developed a migraine yesterday before going to a house party and it hasn't budged until now. As a result, I did not drink very much and I had a long lie in today after going to bed very late. I also have not done very much today because of it.

    Today I have:
    * Applied for a job.
    * Had a Low Spend Day and bought a loaf of bread from the only shop open by me.
    * Tidied around the house and collected all the loose change that I had accumulated - bagged it up and put it in my money box ready for when I can pay it into the bank - amounting to £5.37 :)
    * Kept the heating off so far (keeping it switched off for as long as possible is always a positive for me as my OH is constantly cold and wanting it on)

I am struggling to find the positives again today, probably just due to having a headache and generally feeling like I have not achieved enough for the day as a result. I am going to try and be less harsh on myself and if I take a couple of productive steps a day, then rather than thinking how I could do more, I will focus on the mantra of 'Every Little Helps!' and tell myself that small steps do build up.

    Hiya Del :)

Sorry to hear about your not having a job, have you considered self-employment? I set up as a self-emplyed cleaner after almost a year of being on the dole. it took off straight away and i now work about 21 hours a week for a cleaning agency and 3 hours a week for a private client.
    it's definitely worth considering :)

Also, i see you mentioned getting a lift to the JC, and having to pay for the bus home from the JC- i am pretty sure that if you live a certain distance away, you are entitled to get a free bus pass or something similar. It may be worth asking at the JC. They dont like to tell anyone about these things that you can get, but they cant turn you down if you ask (and if you meet the criteria).
I know that when i was unemployed, they also paid for a pair of black trousers and smart shoes for you to attend job interviews. You have to buy them first, provide receipts and they reimburse you. Make sure you are getting everything you are entitled to :)

    Hi,

Thanks so much for your advice. Next time I attend I will ask about travel. I have to get the bus there otherwise it is about an hours walk from me. I often walk it to save on the bus fare, however with the horrible weather lately, getting the bus has become a more regular occurance!

In a bad routine after NYE of sleeping in and then subsequently not being tired of a night. I was up all night with stomach-ache (food intolerances and lack of will-power) so that did not help matters. But never mind, hopefully tonight I can get back into a better routine. Will go to bed and try and shut off my mind and switch off my ipad :rotfl:
