Right so just to keep myself on track, here's what I have done over the past two days (since my meltdown haha).

    * Went food shopping
    * Applied for six jobs over past two days.

    Little steps :)

Del, if you are not already on a water meter I would suggest getting one fitted. You will then only pay for the water you use (I am assuming you own your home rather than rent). My water bill on a meter for the 2 of us (plus my 20-year-old son who stays-over 4 nights a week) is just £26 a month.

Btw, if you have a negative thought, try and immediately replace it with a positive one.

And yes, I love your advice on immediately thinking something positive when a negative thought or idea creeps into my head. I will try my very best to do this. I do find keeping positive and seeing the good in things helps a lot. Thankyou :)

Have you considered having a lodger, you may find the extra money worth the inconvenience.
    Good luck

Hi there sorry did post a long post last night but naff tablet decided to switch off grrrrrrrrr.

Glad you rang the utility company again and got a human this time.

I would go for a water meter, well I did and I am a bath monster just luv baths and halved my costs. Plus I usually have one lodger staying, got 2 this week, bit crowded, at least stopped me food shopping - no room in the fridge lol, 1 leaves Saturday so can food shop well if I hadn't overpaid cc I could hehe.

You seem really on the ball, a lot more than me this month.
Aww so nice of you trying to give your Aunt the fare back.

Think most problems are solved by just chatting to someone about them, I have a friend who helped out at Shelter over xmas period who came back and said that most people just want a conversation with someone.

Hope you're still upbeat as you've gone quiet, thats the sign I am usually down in dumps.

Good luck on the job front, oops talking about jobs, better get back to mine, too chilled out listening to The Calling - Adrienne, waves and starts the paper shuffle again. x

Oh no, not the computer imps playing up?! I really hate when that happens, I can never remember what I wrote first time around and then I always think it sounded better how it was worded originally haha! Thankyou for your message :)

I am feeling good today, had a horrific day yesterday mood-wise,.

Hope you are having a lovely week and if you have the weekend off, I hope that is a nice one too :) Have you a diary on here too?

Ps. Are you named after the band The Calling - of Wherever You Will Go fame? I haven't heard much of their other stuff but I loved that song. I will give them a listen tomorrow whilst I potter about doing my housework and stuff. x

Bit naff but Yes that's how my username came about, the band split up ages ago.

Have a dull diary on here, week going well, bit woolly headed today thanks to youngest daughter forcing wine down me last night. Looking fwd to this weekend, actually doing lots for a change. Enjoy yrs, think you need to let off steam, clears the air. Hopefully your back to a happy ever after now. X

good call on the water meter, changed mine to a WM from rates as soon as I bought my house, now £15 pcm and yes, that includes 4 baths, 3 showers a week plus washing the car and a bit of garden watering when it isn't monsoon season.

You are an inspiration: the reason you keep finding money etc? =Karma, frankly! You are sending out the right positive vibes and getting back luck in return, it'll only be a matter of time until life turns around for you, please keep it up!

  • Oh, do I understand the ostrich situation. Winding yourself up in knots and worrying.

Deep breath . . . and, since '80's music was being talked about up-thread - on a day that's carp - just keep Julian Cope in mind with the wonderful "World Shut Your Mouth".

    Take care.
