as for "known" that's a gray area, as a guess from a fellow moneysaver it appears another option is chargeable on whatsapp.
therefore unknown.
Unknown till you posted here. You were then made aware of what happens when you use the recommend a friend to whastapp so now known and perfectly obvious. Yet armed with this knowledge you still asked T-Mobile about charges that were on your account quite legitimately.T-Mobile have refunded, case closed as mentioned previousely. yawn yawn yawn
You have been lucky as it's obvious you did indeed make those texts, albeit through not understanding the app.
At least other people will be forewarned not to make the same mistake.
Hopefully others will be rather less rude when they realise their mistake though.0 -

I guess your right, although all that whats App needs to do, is warn senders, the button chosen will charge a text, but yeah, your right on that scoreTrinidad - I have a number of needs. Don't shoot me down if i get something wrong!!0 -

Hi Moneysavers, I wanted to thank some people here for there knowledge.
As mentioned above, when adding someone to the WhatsApp, there maybe an option available which says "recommend someone to use whatsapp" when clicking on this, it will generate a text message to the number you typed in, thus the charge. the numbers I clicked were international numbers to T&T, so I was charge even more than the standard text message.
There are other options such as "share your information with other" which I think does not generate a text message, hense a charge.
Again I am only guessing all this, from the information I got from other moneysavers. I think T-Mobile was a little vague on this, which is why the CSR offered to refund the charges which was nice of them.
I hope everyone keeps money saving for 2k14.
I also hope this was informative for others.

I'm guessing you're the kind of person who thinks that packets of nuts should have warning labels about containing nuts too, huh?
How did you think the invitation to whatspp was going to be sent? Pigeon? Smoke signals? Or using the device you're holding?0 -

I thought you went to CISAS who got T-mobile to pay you £150 for the £4.37 charge for international texts as they chose to ignore your complaint?0 -

WOW - you make a balls-up by electing to send international texts, from an app that is totally unrelated to TMobile - and you get Tmob to reimburse you.
I don't know whether to pity you or congratulate you.
If it ever makes anyone wonder why genuine complaints get queried and scrutinised so much - I would advise reading the OP's last threads in this forum.0 -

Exactly. It just makes it more difficult for everyone with a genuine problem or complaint to get anywhere when people abuse the system like this.0 -
anyone know what happons when you click on "share contact" on whats app?
what does the other person get, a text message? a message from me? again no info on chargesTrinidad - I have a number of needs. Don't shoot me down if i get something wrong!!0 -

me getting reversed charges on something i did not know i was being charged for has no affect on people complaining, and this was a "genuine problem" no one has "abused any system here" so please stop.Trinidad - I have a number of needs. Don't shoot me down if i get something wrong!!0
