Kiwiblue - hope the ground has settled for you

Anzac - you sound positive despite your news today, I hope it works out well for you and GC helps you get in a better position in the meantime

I have been reading, but not posting as I haven't been spending. Five NSDs (on groceries) in a row and tomorrow should be so too.

Need to start planning meals and shopping list for week ahead - 2 more weekly shops to month end. Can I do it?

NSD here - starting to count what is left now plus some gaps in fridge. Still determined not to spend unless essential.
We had HM wedges + black pudding + fried egg + baked beans for dinner.

  • Starting to only buy value ranges or own brand products now. If I can't tell the difference then they stay. So far have switched to value washing powder, Deodorant, shampoo & Conditioner and cupboard basics. Haven't noticed any difference except the cost. Going to think about how to bring down the budget further for Feb but don't think I can get it any lower than £90 that's for two people including food and cleaning products. I don't drive so tend to just get my shopping delivered from one place namely Mr T. We have a L*dl within walking distance but not being able to drive means I could only buy what I could carry.Open to any suggestions though.

    What about a snazzy trolley?

Hello, I've had an NSD today but am going to the shop early tomorrow before work as also need petrol. Need to buy washing powder, am going to get Sains Basics as this has been ok in the past, though may check out Aldy as well and see what offers are on. Also need fruit, salad, milk, snacks and bread (breadmaker I bought off eBuy still not unwrapped.)

Meal plan for rest of week:

    Chicken curry, naan and rice
    Shepherd's pie with lamb mince
    Fish and pasta
Just me so something light and cheap
Beans and cheese on toast or with baked potato
    Roast beef dinner

Don't think there's much there not already in a cupboard or freezer. Got to stay focused now to come in under £100 I think. It would help if I could remember where I've put all my luncheon vouchers so I could use them like I've planned x

    What about a snazzy trolley?

I have a snazzy trolley! Pink and beige and white all swirly!
and now I have finished work manage the shopping with DH taking me for a monthly big shop to Mr T, then I shop locally on a weekly basis -A*di, H BAgs etc and it all goes in my trolley. I sometimes overdo it though - it can suddenly get heavy without you realising it!!! It is also better now I have worked out how to hang it onto the hook on a s/m shopping trolley too as I used to be lethal getting people's legs!!!:rotfl::o.

Small spend 1.97 on milk and butter stuff yesteday. Sig updated.

    Hi all,
Thanks for your thoughts. I was a bit sad today so gave in to temptation and had a hot choc AND cheesecake after leaving work early. (I left the base on the cheesecake - not very GF).
I'm semi-annoyed at myself about that but figured under the circumstances it was justifiable.

Another NSD for groceries today so I'm feeling very proud of myself :D Even remembered to take some meat out of the freezer last night - tonight's dinner is kangaroo fillet and veg. Haven't tried it before, so wish me luck!

I'm slowly working through the huge amount of veg and salady stuff I had left over from last week, so it's nice to see some space in the fridge again! I'm going to see how long I can last without buying any more meat.

Edit: my spending spreadsheet would suggest I missed a few things out so have updated the sig again. ;)
