Today will be a NSD
Prepared tea to go in the oven when I pick up the two eldest terrors from school. Tonight we have a savoury mince made with .5lb steak mince, half a large onion, 3 diced carrots, 3 diced parsnips, a couple tablespoons of frozen peas, a tin of baked beans, about 3rd cup of lentils, a stock cube, water, a couple tablespoons of gravy granules to thicken. I put this in a casserole dish after it was all cooked and have topped with a cheap home bargains dumpling mix to make a dumpling crust, we'll have this with steamed brocolli.
The other .5lb of mince will be used to make a spag bol tomorrow0 -
Have to declare £9.98 spend in B&M and L!DL yesterday, am finding it very tough on such a small budget - paid on Friday so February starts then for me and I will be putting the budget up to £25 a week I think!
Last night we had leftover spicy carrot and lentil soup with ham open sandwiches (leftover ham from my mum) and used the remnants of the roast chicken with an onion to make tacos topped with guacamole - got the kits for 59p in B&M, astonished that they were wheat free! Going to stock up I think, very tasty. NSD for sure today though, unless there are some really good YS bargains at work!"All cruelty springs from weakness" - Lucius Annaeus SenecaPersonal pronouns are they/them/their, please.

They look fantastic. What was the recipe that you used for the dough as am on the look our for a good one. Last attempt was really heavy and sweet. so the recipe for that went in the bin. That voice in your head that says you can’t do this is a LIAR!

So far this month I have managed to live off the contents of my fridge/freezer/store cupboard and not spent anything which has been great.
I ate the last of my Christmas chocolate this evening and am sipping the last dregs of my Baileys in hot chocolate, so really feel all the Christmas goodies are gone (except for one stubborn jar of mincemeat in the cupboard - ideas welcomed so long as it isn't mince pies!).
I will have to shop tomorrow as I am out of or running out of basics now and a few fresh veggies wouldn't go amiss either.
Someone at work made a mincemeat cheesecake for our festive bake off. Think it was just a basic cheesecake with some mincemeat stirred into the mix. Was quite tasty. That voice in your head that says you can’t do this is a LIAR!

Evening/morning all!
As of today I have a good reason really work on being frugal as I found out this morning that my job is being 'disestablished' in July and I'm being made redundant
Still a bit shocked but I'm so thankful that I had rediscovered this forum recently - and now I will be extra motivated to use all those fabulous tips! My goal is to save as much as I can before I leave at the end of June. Hopefully I'll have found another job by then but you never know - I figure it's best to be prepared
Was hoping for a NSD today but I figured I could get away with a hot choc with a colleague after we found out the news. Otherwise I'm pretty pleased with myself - prepared a snack, breakfast, lunch and dinner today, despite meeting up with a friend at lunchtime (I brought mine along).
My aim at the moment is to spend as little as possible on groceries and try to use everything up. Will need a shop later in the week for some toiletries and possibly some veg but it's going well so farMarch 2020 grocery challenge $921.76/$500AU

I had a £28 spend at Sainsburys over 3 trips at the weekend. I really wish I could remember everything all in one go and it would really keep my spend down! I do however have breakfast, lunch and tea sorted for the week.
I'm hoping for 4/5 no spend days this week. The one day spend is a colleagues leaving lunch and its pasta and a drink for £6 so can't go wrong there!Pay off Debts by Christmas 2015 = DEBT FREE!0 -
Still quite a way under my budget but only got £50 in the main account til Tuesday next week so this week will be an extremely low spend week. I shouldn't need anything til Wednesday when I'll need more milk and baby milk.
