2 NSD's over the weekend
Soup for dinner yesterday and HM fish and chips for tea.
We went to a buffet lunch today and are so full that only had a bag of crisps for tea!
Friends for tea tomorrow and then going to meal plan til the end of the month, using up what I can. Looking forward to my AF order coming this week, and should only have to get a bit of fresh stuff to last us. Yay!A family that eats together, stays together

Another NSD for me today.
The grandchildren have arrived for the week (summer holidays) and I was going to do a grocery shop, but we have had a huge earthquake and I felt the safest thing to do was to stay put.
Tomorrow however will probably be quite an expensive day.0 -
Day 1 of my new week & i'm hoping to avoid the shops. I've got leftovers to use up before buying more.Try to be a rainbow in someone's cloud.0

Hi K9's and felines
Yes we are all ok here. Bit shaken as you can imagine, but there were no injuries. At 6.2 it was the biggest we have felt in years. Kids have all been taught to 'make like a turtle' and they were so good. All in bed now and hopefully in for a quiet night
Cheers

Just updated my signature with spends over the weekend.
Seem to be doing incredibly well at the moment!! Hope I haven't spoke too soon.
The next few weeks are going to be quite taxing as need a new oven. Ordered one from Argos but they are saying 4 February, before they ring to organise delivery!! Still at least this time I am getting oven I want. This last one as been rubbish.0 -
Small spend this morning £2.39 on weetabix and bread rolls (wish dh had told me we were running low as I could have got this weekend) also had to get the till operator to check the price as the weetabix was on offer but didn't chow up on the scan - I probably wouldn't have noticed if I hadn't had only 2 items and had the money ready! Put half the rolls in the freezer so I can take out for dd lunch each day.
Got soup to make hopefully for dinner if I can get it ready over lunch as dh is out for dinner (entertaining with work so free!), chicken stock to make and maybe some more buns for the kids as only 2 left! Plus I am working outside of the house tomorrow and will be out early and back late so no cooking will get done!
May nip out for oats and sweet potato today if I get chance - its going to be a busy day (as I combine all this with FT work - usually at home)
Doing OK on the grocery budget but this is my first month so only really an estimated budget and I haven't been to my favourite butcher yet and I will probably go this weekend - we usually pay more but its excellent locally sourced meat and we always try and make sure we stretch it with leftovers soup or stock after for further meals.
Anyway thats me for now - best go and get some work done

We have run out of fruit (again). I will need to pop to Aldeee on the way home. I will also need dog food and a few bits for lunches this week.
I was going to run my GC calendar monthly but I get paid on Wednesday so it feels odd budgeting for food with part Jan money and part feb money. I will run January from 30th Dec to 24th Jan, so just about 4 weeks. I should come in around £200 which is amazing for me. If we had done more of a use up month it would have been less but since I was spending over £350 I am chuffed to bits. I will continue to use up what we have and keep our spends low in Feb. What has helped this month is shopping at aldee again and buying just what we need.
Meal plan for the coming week:
Spaghetti Meatballs (made from artisan susages in freezer)
Veggie chilli with white and sweet potato wedges
HM Cheese and Veg Pasties, mushy peas, chips and gravy
Sausage, waffles, egg and beans (need a quick tea)
Chicken stuffed with ham and cheese, mini pots and veg
DH cooking something exciting
Mums for Sunday lunch
DH has requested lasagne and I have never made a meat one before so off to investigate recipes:)Save £10,500 - £2673.77 - 25.5%
Pay off £7000 - £1743 - 19.4%
Make £2021 extra income - £99.750
