    Hi all,

    NSD here :)

Got to spend a bit tomorrow as my turn for the work 'tea boat' so at least a tenner - at least i,m off the hook for another 6 weeks after.

I will be over budget this month, but determined not to beat myself up over it - for the first time in years I have not spent January staring in horror at my bank statement - so still better than I was and proud of it - thanks to you guys
Note to self - STOP SPENDING MONEY !!

    £300/£130
  • I spent another £4.16, the cupboards are beginning to look a bit bare, I will need to do a proper shop at the weekend, I think. I went to Mr T for the salt for my bread-making and also bought some pasta and fresh fruit.

Everyone is doing very well - keep up the good work, the end of the longest month of the year is not far now!

    Hi all :)

I'm sure i'm going to be a little bit over budget this month. 10 days to go and i have £20 left to spend, but have another weekly shop next week so guess i'll be over around £30ish. Not feeling too bad though as £250 was my budget this time last year and now there's 3 of us since DS come along, so we're now spending £10 plus a week on milk and nappies.

Started weaning DS onto cows milk this week, so hopefully by next month he will be on cows milk fully and that will save an extra £40-£50 per month.

Did the weekly shop yesterday, which will see us through to next Tuesday. Spent:

    £27 in Ald!
    £21 in Mr A
    £15 in Mr M

Another spend of £0.90 today on washing up liquid and casserole mix in the local CO-OP. Got me thinking i need to learn how to cook from scratch better. I walked around the CO-OP for a while looking for chicken casserole mix as the shelves were empty and it got me thinking i have no idea how to make the casserole sauce even if i did have all the ingredients in at home already.

We had a weekend away too this weekend and spent a scary amount of money on eating out. Luckily this didnt come out of GC budget, but also made me think next time we go away i'm going to search out vouchers to use for eating out e.g 241 etc.

Off to catch up with the thread now and add up spends for sig.

    Suze :)

NSD today as been driving/meetings all day tip late. However the good thing is due to work expenses I could buy a few food items at M&S simplyfd which in effect don't cost anything as my lunch and dinner allowance so that will help with meals this week so I may be able to avoid the shops tomorrow too!
  • I'm declaring this month as being overbudget!! See sig

Moving over to Feb thread now as start new month on Friday (payday) and I won't need to buy anything until then

Note to self, must try harder next month

Spend totalling £5.67 on T. Rolls and steak today. Hope to get another NSD tomorrow.
Am nearing the end of the sack of potatoes we brought Nov 5th and cost us £8.99 - have only had to throw one away and none have gone wrinkly or sprouted. Not sure if will need them this weekend or next but will certainly buy some more.
    MARCH £62.38/250

there was nothing about when it ends, I did not need potatoes really but was too good to miss as I make HM mash very often as my wee boy loves it and whatever is left goes in the freezer for the next easy meal ( microwave from frozen and mash is ready).
