Well, it's been cold, wet and miserable so I didn't make it to the market like planned this morning but wanted to get a cheap magazine so went to coop when the rain died down.
Ended up with cheap magazine, Doritos, bananas, thorntons caramel squares, spinach, totalling £5.57

Going to have a baking afternoon - Paul Hollywood's scones and Lorraine Pascale's Lemon Yogurt Pound Cake - not tried the cake before but it's supposed to be only 159 calories a slice - got to be worth a go!

Oh my gosh! PH's scones are so lush - I'm never going to buy another scone again! :j The cake looks good too - nice and light - waiting for it to get cold to try it.

Spent another £8 in Sains on a massive bag of potatoes, mushrooms, onions, corned beef and bananas. Also picked up the new vacuum - thought I was clean enough vacuuming twice or thrice a week with our old Henry, but I was totally mortified to find the new one needed emptied after vacuuming our living room once!"All cruelty springs from weakness" - Lucius Annaeus SenecaPersonal pronouns are they/them/their, please.
I'm intolerant of wheat, citrus, grapes, grape products and dried vine fruits, tomato, and beetroot, and I am also somewhat caffeine sensitive.0 -
Ok I'm declaring at £299.91 for the month so reeeeaally pleased with that as we have had my Mum with us for the whole month. Have joined the February challenge so will see you all over there. Good luck everyone.I'm not a failure if I don't make it, I'm a success because I :tried!0

I have done a LOT of shopping today and am having a minor panic that I won't have enough money for the rest of the month  I had to stock up on a lot of stuff and may have gotten a little carried away
So, the damage:
Asda: £11.89 Shampoo/Conditioner, veg for soup, freezer bags, split peas
Sainsbury's: £18.46 Washing up liquid, crumpets (four packs :rotfl:), bread, peppers, bananas, chorizo, eggs, catfood.
Costco: £32.48 Tinned tomatoes, binbags, red lentils, chicken breasts.
Misc: £3.99 on hair dye
Total spend: £66.82
I still need to go to Aldi because I fell asleep and didn't make it there :rotfl: I only need milk and cat litter from there though, which will be under a tenner.
I've spent £67.15 from my £200 budget and I got paid yesterday :rotfl: I would love to be able to say that I've now bought all the meat I need for the month - if I buy anything else now it'll be because it's whoopsied. Those chicken breasts will last us at least for the rest of the month, if not longer. I tend to not use a lot of chicken in recipes anyway - I cut them in to chunks and add more veg to some of the recipes I have. Meal planning will be the way forward this month0 -
Updated signature after shopping at aldi and Iceland (thanks for the tip I got crunchy nut cornflakes and weetabix minis reduced)
Spent about £32 for both ( my tesco shop was going to be £40+ ) so pleased with that
Soup and rolls for lunch and a lovely roast chicken, sausages, hm bread sauce and hm stuffing veg and mash for dinner
Made enough fresh stuffing with breadcrumbs from stale bread and nuts etc so I could freeze a batch , just made a banoffee pie by whiz zing up biscuits and granola with some butter for a base , already had some toffee sauce in cupboards and some cream in the freezer so no spend to make a lovely pud
Even made some ginger muffins whilst chicken roasting!
Off for a gin and tonic pre dinner!! And will be reading all the posts and catching up...

Hello ☺:)
Had a busy month. Lots happened . Gave up smoking, doing slimming world and trying to manage my spending. Unfortunately 120 was not realistic budget for me. I calculated if careful, spend equals 75 GBP a week. My teenage DD loves fresh fruit and generally fussy, little black cat loves fresh pork mince my slimming world plan is not very cheep either... Shopping in Lidl this month. I read evey single post and without this group spending would be through the roof! Thank you for all the inspiration. Please could do revise my budget to 300 GBP instead for January?

NSD today
For tea it was just myself, DH and the teeny terror so I sliced up a chicken breast and covered it in a crunchy coating that I had knocking about in the cupboard. We had the chicken in wraps with red pepper, vine tomatoes, spinach leaves, grated cheese and bbq sauce mmmm. I have a chicken breast left for a curry or something like that tomorrow, I'll bulk it up with cauli, peas, onion and chickpeas if I have any for 4 of us (my eldest is at my mum's tonight).0 -
