I am still here but need to do some sums as not kept track this past week. Have been to parents last weekend then home for a mad rush to clear kitchen ready for decorating. Mum and Dad had given me a £25 B & Q voucher for my 50th birthday so that was spent on paint. I also had to get the house ready for my Parents to come and stay overnight so they can help!!!!!!!!!! Will do some sums tomorrow then cry in a corner

Managed another NSD. Fresh stuff getting a bit scarce here now in my stocks. However I had some packs of beetroot from Aldo so opened one of those.
We had HM wedges + sardines + roasted green pepper/beetroot/red onions for dinner.

I am having a moment here to panic about how much I have spent so far:eek: . Safe to say my lightbulb is flickering fast! Have just updated my signature with my latest spends and am truly appalled at how much money has gone and it's only the 18th of January :o . This was supposed to be a use up month and I've spent like a woman possessed. It's not even like my freezers are full up. I'm a bit scared really, I thought I was being over generous setting my target at £500 and I am going to exceed that easily. I will be reining it in big time stylee for the remainder of the month and will learn some lessons from this.
  • it was iceland or farmfoods i got those from last week as DH said they were a bargain price and loads cheaper than others. i know i went in sains, farmfoods and iceland, cocopops were cheapest in sains DS2 has a handful of those on top of weetabix minis.
try iceland first as ive got a feeling it was there

thanks for that i will try iceland!

Pudding but they didn't rise like they did the first time!

Does anyone have a good full proof recipe?

i always use jamie oliver recipe:
    100g flour
    pinch salt
    1/2 pint milk
    3 eggs
    works every time
  • Good morning :j

Going shopping today or tomorrow armed with my list & meal plan, should hopefully be able to get most of what I need at Lidl, I'm really pleased with how the budget is going so far, considering there is over £100 of pet food included in the spends so far too

I'm going to give the strudel idea a go, I've got a ton of mincemeat here and there are only so many mince pies you can eat :D

Hope everyone has a good day :)
