So pleased its sorted for you, nasty shock, re washing up liquid. adding water will stretch it a bit for you. I recently bought a job lot of soap for school Christmas fair and the buyer included a whole carrier bag full of some with no labels so couldn't sell it, I was experimenting with melting it down and had a small amount set in the jug so filled it with water and microwaved it, was delighted to find I had a jug full of soap liquid and have been using that to clean, wash dishes and clothes,

Will add water to the bottle then when that runs out will definitly use this idea as I have loads of soap bars floating around. Thanks meg72
That voice in your head that says you can’t do this is a LIAR!

I am back around again after taking a few days away from worrying about money. :j I have got my brain focused now and have decided to take it slowly this time. I am watching what money is being spent this month and I am planning on setting my budgets again for February. Hopefully I will have a better clue of what we spend than I did in January.

Now just need to work on weekly food plans which is something I have never done in all the time I have been married. This bit could take me awhile

did some baking today - had 2 goose eggs that have been in the fridge for a good while. So I did 2 small cakes with 1 goose egg each, (1 half vanilla and a chocolate sponge) and a large one with hen eggs that we put ginger in. Not sure how gingery it is, haven't tasted it yet.. One of my small cake tins is leaking which is how come the vanilla got cut in half, half of it had poured out the bottom and cooked on the tinfoil at the bottom of the oven!

  • A good day so far and my 3rd NSD!!! DH decided to work at home today which can be quite distracting (as I work at home) so I have stayed in the office all day!!!After walking dd to school I took old lotto tickets to see if there were any winners and low and behold I got £5 back so was quite pleased as they almost went in the bin! - it will pay for ds gym training for swim club which is £5!!
Anyway dd had packed lunch and I made me and hubby sandwiches and used up some panettone for lunch, even had a cup of nice/proper coffee which I never make myself as seems a waste for just me so it was a treat!!
I just went onto t3sco to do an online shop and put all the list in - then decided to print the list and go to a*di over the weekend to see how much I can save - so my resolve is doing well!!!
I might have to pop into another supermarket to get some nice breakfast cereals for DH and kids (they like Weetabix minis or crunchy nut cornflakes - expensive tastes but I do like them to have a good breakfast) so I may have to shop around but at least I have an aim to get the price down and I have been planning lots of meals that use up ingredients so my cupboards are less crammed and I might be able to get in there and clean at some point!
Tonight is swim training - kids will have LO roast beef and HM Yorkshires I might have to make some mash for them and veg
DH and I will use up a cannelloni in the freezer - we don't normally have different meals but its the only way of using up food sometimes!
I have a nice chicken to roast over the weekend and going to do some baking (ginger buns and banoffee pie - all ingredients are lurking somewhere!! so I will use the oven to its max when it is on!!)
    That's me for now

magpye - so glad to hear this has been sorted - it must have been a really nasty shock for both of you.

I'm feeling really encouraged reading how well people are doing - especially the determination shown by so many to plan and shop around - it's very inspiring! It's great we can encourage each other like this.
