January 2014 Grocery Challenge

Hello everyone! I have been away for quite a while, but still living frugally. Decided to cut back a little on the grocery budget as it has been creeping up a little lately.
So far this month I have managed to live off the contents of my fridge/freezer/store cupboard and not spent anything which has been great.
I ate the last of my Christmas chocolate this evening and am sipping the last dregs of my Baileys in hot chocolate, so really feel all the Christmas goodies are gone (except for one stubborn jar of mincemeat in the cupboard - ideas welcomed so long as it isn't mince pies!).
I will have to shop tomorrow as I am out of or running out of basics now and a few fresh veggies wouldn't go amiss either.31.5/1000 -

DH is home, £19.85 spent (that's why he really shouldn't be let loose in a supermarket
)
Off for wine, steak & chocolate in that order.
Hope everyone has a good evening:)0 -

Quite a few NSD being clocked up by many of you so far this month - all good for the purse.
Have now spent £86.34 so far this month which is good.
Brought a haggis today in A!di ready for Burns night. Not tried it before as far as I can remember so will give it a whirl on the 25th. Also got the swede in the super 6
Tea tonight was sausage and fried onions on ciabbata rolls with some potato fritters. Then we had some fresh fruit salad for after.MARCH £62.38/2500 -
Had a lovely few hours out with my friend, poking round HB, matalan and a £ shop. Had a bit of dinner and then got home ready to get tea ready.
My hubby has very kindly passed his cold on to me, so I'm snuffling away tonight.
I only spent £5.16 on odds and ends for cleaning. Hubby had spaghetti Bolognese for tea and I had some toast, I didn't fancy anything else with this cold starting. (Mind you I could eat some of the pizza pictured above!)
I've updated my signature and hopefully will be back tomorrow.
Have a lovely evening allA family that eats together, stays together

What about mixing with some chopped apple for a strudel?
Spent £1.03 on a YS whole chicken, 67p on YS cherries ("family" pack haha, won't last the night) and a few bits for Himself's lunches for the next 2 days. Updated signature with the total."All cruelty springs from weakness" - Lucius Annaeus SenecaPersonal pronouns are they/them/their, please.
I'm intolerant of wheat, citrus, grapes, grape products and dried vine fruits, tomato, and beetroot, and I am also somewhat caffeine sensitive.0 -

thanks
I'm a singly so cant manage a whole batch .....honest .... so take one out of freezer and pop it in a bag for work and its defrosted in time for lunch
i tend to slice em in half before i feeze em they take less time to defrost and i dont have to search for a knofe to cut them with at work:D
