DH decided to work at home today which can be quite distracting (as I work at home) so I have stayed in the office all day!!!After walking dd to school I took old lotto tickets to see if there were any winners and low and behold I got £5 back so was quite pleased as they almost went in the bin! - it will pay for ds gym training for swim club which is £5!!
Anyway dd had packed lunch and I made me and hubby sandwiches and used up some panettone for lunch, even had a cup of nice/proper coffee which I never make myself as seems a waste for just me so it was a treat!!
I just went onto t3sco to do an online shop and put all the list in - then decided to print the list and go to a*di over the weekend to see how much I can save - so my resolve is doing well!!!
I might have to pop into another supermarket to get some nice breakfast cereals for DH and kids (they like Weetabix minis or crunchy nut cornflakes - expensive tastes but I do like them to have a good breakfast) so I may have to shop around but at least I have an aim to get the price down and I have been planning lots of meals that use up ingredients so my cupboards are less crammed and I might be able to get in there and clean at some point!
Tonight is swim training - kids will have LO roast beef and HM Yorkshires I might have to make some mash for them and veg
DH and I will use up a cannelloni in the freezer - we don't normally have different meals but its the only way of using up food sometimes!
I have a nice chicken to roast over the weekend and going to do some baking (ginger buns and banoffee pie - all ingredients are lurking somewhere!! so I will use the oven to its max when it is on!!)
That's me for now

Oooh fast approaching my January budget!
£43.01 in Lidl today, we should just need bread, milk and fruit during the week next week (and the odd 29p croissant for the teeny terror!).
I also spent £6.86 in Toby Carvery yesterday on fish and chips, a cup of tea and an ice-cream sundae for me and the terror to share after we'd been out and £3.44 in soft play today on toast, a coffee and a packet of mini cheddars (though entry was free courtesy of bassett vitamins).
So my total spend so far this month on all food, treats, toiletries, cleaning products, nappies, wipes, children's snack money for school and dog food is £181.57. I don't think that's too bad for a family of 5

Hi. Just use some mince, salt, pepper, one beaten egg to bind. Some people use breadcrumbs, but I try to keep mine as simple as possible. Nice things to add are - garlic paste/fine chopped onions/herbs/red pepper pesto/reg pesto/chilli/paprika. Just depends what kind of flavour you want.
Great thank you, I love simplewill give them a go

My first spend this week a grand total of £4.45 on fruit & veg from the market, which means I'm still just under budget having two weeks to go.
