Just to add that I went to Ts as planned and got the items I needed for the remainder of the month - with the exception of f&v and milk. My total looks horrendous but I really need to come in on budget (or hopefully under) this month. Here's hoping.
February GC is up and running for those of you who are at that stage.
Cottage pie went down very well tonight, and as DS2 is on a sleepover there is a spare portion in the fridge. Have got the pork crackling joint out of the freezer for tomorrow. No rugby for DSs so it means a possible lie in for once :j
Have a good evening all

£58 to add this week in ald1, Saino and mrT. Have stocked up on sunbites crisps and cereal bars to last well into February for lunches. For tea we had slow cooker beef in beer with a pastry top from the freezer. Enough left for 2 meals for the freezer and it was yum.Grocery challenge: dec 294/280, January 250/250, February 168/200:T march 258/2600

Hi all,
Went pretty well today. I went to my sister's place for breakfast (HM GF pancakes and fruit smoothies, yum!) and then to book club at a cafe. Usually I would splash out and go for a full breakfast plus coffee but today I just had coffee.
Remembered I owed a friend some money from another meal so I paid for hers as well, so the spend was actually a bit bigger than it *should* have been. Have updated sig to reflect.
Hoping not to spend anything now for the rest of the week, though I may need some veg by then. I'm having lunch with a friend tomorrow and have suggested we each bring our own lunch to save going out, and will suggest the same for lunch on Friday with another friend
Off to make an early dinner before church now so I'm not tempted to go out to eat afterwards!March 2020 grocery challenge $921.76/$500AU

Morning all, I'm on a weekend break to London and went to see Wicked last night, it has been a new experience for me doing it with money saving in mind, well to be honest there hasn't been a great deal of money saving but well at least I have had it in mind. . . Especially when we walked to the theatre from our hotel and followed directions in a route planner, did have to give up and get a taxi when we got lost, cost me £5.60 but he knocked 60p off.
Anyway sorry here I am making full use of the hotel's free wifi!
I'm adding £24 to my total as despite saying I was banning myself from hunting for YS bargains, I bought a stash when I went to Sains on Friday night to buy stuff for our lunch on the way down here.
I made 15.05 of savings altogether, with some lamb and mint sausages down from £3.20 to 75p, a beef roasting joint at £6, down from £9, rolls for 35p for 4 or 6, apple juice at 40p a big carton, half price part-baked rolls, low fat custard 44p off, Oreos for 25p, hula hoops down from £3 to £1.50, stuffing with 71p off, tinned tomatoes down by 60p. Saved more than £5 on a large pizza and two lots of cheese and bacon potato skins in a meal deal for £8, which will do 2 meals, one including a friend coming for tea! I think I timed it just right (7.10) and even the cashier remarked on my bargains.
I'm off to Trafalgar Square and am possibly going to have a cup of coffee in the room plus a cereal bar for my breakfast, as we are room only, my waistline will thank me as much as my purse.
Have a great day all, thanks for continued inspiration xx0 -
Morning everyone. Just coming on for a " moan" sorry. I never get to the supermarkets when it is YS time only my local Sbugs but had to return something to Mr T yesterday so decided to do our stock up shop for Feb ahead of time so that I didn't miss out on all the offers that are expiring 21st and 26th Jan!!
Got to the reduced bit to see a man about 6ft 3in tall taking up the whole width of the reduced area with his arms full of YS stuff - balanced from his hip to his chin!!! He could reach the stuff on the top shelf too! He just stood in the way of everyone else trying to look until he got everything he could.
Sorry moan over and well done to everyone who manages to get good YS stuff - just jealous after yesterday!
Everyone is doing so well. Am planning a couple of veggie meals for next two weeks to try and keep under budget. Like the look of A*di super 6 veg this time.
