  • Hi all

I know its a bit late in the year but can I start this challenge?

    I aim to spend £0

I have loads of brand new clothes in a size 10 and I'm currently a size 12-14
I'm starting back on my healthy eating lifestyle so I'm aiming to get back into a size 10 as soon as possible so shouldn't need to spend any money at all!

    Thanks!

Went away for two nights. Stayed away from Meadow Hall so that I wouldn't be tempted. Still no spend for this month.

As planned for during August, have ordered DS a new school shirt for £6 at Matalan online with 7% cashback via Qu1dco. Neck size 16" He also has a 15.5" that is nearly new, so he'll start the school year with those and see how he goes.

Had to pay out for trainers and shoes for him as well, but not from this budget or I'd have gone over it I reckon

So just the £6 (or £5.58 after cashback) this month. No other plans to buy anything and looks like the autumn/winter clothes will be making their way to the front of drawers/wardrobe given the weather here. Brrr.

Went AWOL on here for a few months - trying to catch up now.

So the start of the year went:

    January - NSM
    February - NSM
    March - £133 on bras
    April - £29.95 on a dress
    May - £15.20 on tights in M&S
    June:
£76 in Boden - 1 Jersey summer dress, 4 tshirt tops - I find these really good quality and fit - short sleeved t shirt tops were a big gap in my wardrobe, not anymore!
£124 in Pepperberry - 2 new dresses (and mum bought me a third) 1 was a wedding/going out dress, 1 was to wear for a wedding and then wear for my volunteering where I need to look smart, 1 was for work/every day - 3 different dresses and all fit really nicely.
July - £49 in Hobbs for a Bolero - I know most people on this thread would be horrified with this spend but I bought one 2 years ago and another 3 and they both look like new, fit and wash lovely. Was to wear to the two weddings in August.
    August - no clothing spends.

So current clothing total for 2014 is £427.15 so way over my target.

However I think that's me done for 2014 - don't think I've got any more gaps in my wardrobe, no more weddings and I've unsubscribed from all the clothing company emails today - not that any of these summer purchases were impulse.

What's been interesting is it's shown me what kind of shopper I have become. This year I've added:

    Dresses:
    2 occassion/smart
    2 smart/casual
    1 casual

5 Tshirts (including free one from Boden)

    1 Bolero

3 new bras and some tights.

Apart from the dress from Joules nothing was impulse bought, everything has been worn (apart from that dress which is a 'back up' as I bought one last year and wear it lots).

Sold a few bits at a car boot a couple of months ago, rest of the stuff I decided I don't need anymore needs splitting between facebook groups and cash for clothes type place I think - there's a fair bit of it, I'm going relatively minimal.

So my aim is now to not spend anything else, with the exception of a new swimming costume, between now and the end of the year.

Hello all. I won't be spending anything today or tomorrow on clothes so August is no spend for me. I have a new job though which actually requires me to go into an office regularly so I need to have a look through my smart clothes. I could be spending quite a bit in the next two weeks, although hopefully from the charity shops.
Spend less now, work less later.

As I'm not going out until Monday, think it's safe to declare my total for August

    NIL

So that leaves me at £66/£300 for the year.

I nearly bought a couple of tops in the M&S sale, but decided I didn't really need them, so managed to resist the temptation

I may buy a new evening dress later in the year, but I have no real need to buy anything else at present
