The Completely Crazy 2014 Clothes Challenge

So many no spenders this feb! Well done team, unfortunately I am not one of them but hoping to proudly declare a no spend at the end of march

Was having a think today about what my current favourite clothes are in my wardrobe and thought I'd put it to discussion.
My favourites are:
1) A sleeveless purple shirt I bought in a sale about 2 years ago. Worn so many times everyone I know is probably sick of the sight of it :P because its sort of silky material it can be dressed up or down and goes with everything.
2) Black leggings and Black 'jeggings'- they are about the only things that are actually worn until they wear out in my wardrobe! Particularly useful this year as I'm a final year uni student and comfort is definitely key this year!
3) 2 oversized jumpers I bought from ebay at the end of 2013. Wear both constantly, particularly when I have deadlines. One says 'genius' across the front so I like to wear it when I'm doing work as it gets me in 'the zone'
4) a pair of black wedges, bought for £20 in first year of uni and have been on my feet for almost every night out since and they are still going strong! Incredible and so comfy.
What's your wardrobe favourites ?

Well done everyone. I am afraid I spent in February and have done already in March. Think I was way too ambitious setting my budget at £250 considering how much I probably have spent on clothes the last few years. I am struggling to cut back
Nearly spent my yearly budget already
In fairness, I have sold some clothes on Ebay and it was my birthday recently and spent money I got for this on the below. I am not deducting from my total though as I should have put this money towards my debt really
So I have bought:
Oasis spotty shirt - £38
Oasis Lace shirt - £35
Think these are both very expensive for what they are but I will get a lot of use out of them both in and out of work.
5 costume jewellery necklaces at total cost of £28.86  got carried away with these.
Navy stripe shift dress from Dorothy Perkins at £18.75 - again will get a lot of use out of this for work
Zara Navy Leggings at £19.99
Primark bra and knickers set at £5 - I bought 2 of these but one set doesn't fit despite it being the same size so I am going to hopefully return this. Primark say they don't accept returns of briefs but this is a bra and pant set, I have only tried the bra on and it still has all the tags attached so I am really hoping they will refund me. Otherwise that's another £5 to declare
This takes my total upto £171.07 :eek: I also have placed a few online orders
will declare once I decide what I am going to keep.
I feel really ashamed to be honest but hopefully posting on here will inspire me to keep going!0 -
KT2802- keep going regardless! If you overspend, set a new target! just think how bad the spending could be if you didn't give it a second thought
I'd have spent double what I have if it wasn't for this challenge! Frugal Student!!!0 -
Hello, can I please join the crazy clothes challenge. Last year I did my own challenge - to not buy any clothes at full price and I did pretty well. But since last September my clothes buying has escalated. I normally have a very generous budget of £75 - £100 per month but last month I spent close to £200.00 ( there is a shop that I really like - white stuff and I go into it whenever we go to a place that has one).
I would like to try and go cold turkey for this month and not spend any money. Then cut my budget down to max £50.00 a month. (£450.00) for the rest of the year. ( which I know is still very generous) I am going to continue to try and never pay full price for anything and I am going to try and look in more charity shops. ( I always go in them to buy books but last month Was the first time I bought a piece of clothing from them - I was inspired by people on this post).2025 Fashion on a ration 0/66 coupons

I was a February no spender
I went to Bravissimo on Saturday though and spent £133 of my £300, but I'm all stocked up on bras and a new sports bra too. I normally go once a year and spend about £100, £1 bras from the poundshop won't do it for me!
I've also sold 2 vest tops, 4 other tops, and a skirt over the weekend - pretty pleased with that. Need to get onto the next pile tonight if possible and get that listed. The money goes into a pot to fund things like new furniture but if I do well with sales I might treat myself to a new dress with a bit of it.
Hope everyone else has a good March.Initial Mortgage January 2024 - £160,000
