  • First of all, I'd like to thank both the posters who replied to my oat so simple morning bar syn query. I will buy the Alpen bars instead.
I've done a complete u turn this afternoon about joining group as I'm doing quite well on my own using last years books, mags & this forum so don't want to give my money away!!
So, if you don't mind, I'd like to properly join you all here & would like to report a 4lb lose since the beginning of the year. Very happy with that! As of this morning I'm 14st 1lb.
What week day would be best to weigh to fit in with the challenge?

~ I'm so in the zone!~ have waited a good 4/5 years to be back in this place

Breakfast was on the run oat so simple bar
    Snack banana
Lunch ryvita, ham & a scrapping of Mayo
    Snack muller light
Tea what's left of the homemade soup
    Supper hot chocolate
I picked up a packet of Ainsley harriots lentil Dahl in sainsburys because I think I read somewhere that it's free. Would this be correct? Cheers & hugs & thoughts to those who need them today. This weather is thoroughly miserable.
My hea will always be milk.... I love me brew!
  • Skint cat.. I seen a SW carbonara recipe somewhere .. Trying to find it now. The mac n cheese one in this months mag sounds delicous too. Really looking forward to trying out some of these types of recipes over the weekend. Especially being able to join the family with a cooked breakfast.
I just don't get the time during the week between work & kids.
Meal planning will definitely be my key to success.

I wondered whether putting some nutmeg on top would help. That's what I used to put on a baked rice pudding. I'm not a fan of boiled rice pudding as I like mine quite dry. Haven't had any for years and years./QUOTE]

I did put nutmeg on the top but the skin was a very pale brown - my DH said it reminded him of underdone chicken skin:rotfl::rotfl:. Have to say didn't really bother we because I don't like the skin anyway!

Made the mac n cheese last night - looked a bit weird but tasted OK. There was far too much to fit into my 4 portion dish so ended up doing a smaller 2 portion one as well so have 2 x 2 portions in the freezer for later.

That's great news and I'm sure you'll be absolutely fine with us.

The dahl is free, as are the tins of dahl from Asda.

Personally, I'm happy with a Thursday or Friday for WI. This is partly because I'm then motivated to do my mealplan and shop on a Friday. It also means that if you have a few too many syns at the weekend (as I do as I save them up specially) you've still got Monday onwards to claw back by being extra good.

Looking at your menu for the day, it doesn't look much food. I know you want to use up the soup but I think you should have at least one substantial meal a day. I like it in the evening as it stops me snacking later.
