Frogga -- I used any yogurt I had --shape,activia etc but most people used muller. I would make it at night and mix the yogurt, maybe have some. Take the rest to school and an extra yogurt. I could make it any texture thin or thick and usually had it at breaktime.
You are right Nessie. Magic Porridge is oats. So memory not good. But the rice made all free so saved a heb (wish I could remember its nickname--Marian rice?)0 -
Gooood Morning/afternoon all...
Thought I would pop in whilst lunch cooks and the little munchkin is sat eating his cheese, cheese biscuits and fruit (all right for some ehh!!)
Thank you for the warm welcome back
Well I have had a Tesco delivery this morning -has everyone seen they have started doing quark and its on offer -they have plain, vanilla and lemon (although they were out of plain for my order so I got an extra vanilla)
http://www.tesco.com/groceries/Product/Details/?id=278131488
I have an Ocado delivery due on Tuesday -I don't normally have 2 but they have there xtra lean mince (5%fat) on offer at half the price of Tesco -2x500g for £6.50 so I have taken advantage to stock upthey also have cook your own ham/gammons on at just under £4 for 1.2kg so I have grabbed some of those too -I find it more satisfying than ready sliced stuff..
Im affraid I might be being a little bit naughty too frogga as Im still going to be using oat so simple as a hexB as that's what I did before and it worked -you were supposed to have a bran fibre jobby with it too weren't you to increase the fibre *but I never bothered :shhh:* I charge 2 syns too as I have the flavoured ones...
Well -breakfast pretty much passed me by-so I hava had an apple and a clementine so far... lunch will be :-
- roast chicken
- steamed potatoes
- carrots
- cauli
- runner beans- guess who has loads frozen lol
- peas
I think that if I get time today I need to make a proper meal plan as I know Im not eating enough
How old is your little one Nessie? my little monkey is 21 months now, I still find it a nightmare trying to eat well -mainly because if he settles on me (Im still feeding him) there is NO WAY Im disturbing him-if he is asleep on my knee then I ain't moving unless the house is on fire :rotfl: so quite often I find myself grabbing what is to hand -luckily we don't have choc etc in the house.. I now have a soup maker but even then I still can't eat if he is asleep on me -still I keep reminding myself that he won't be little for long so I try not to stress *not always easy*
Now that my little boy is eating I can't blame him for me eating his leftovers etc as he simply doesn't have any :rotfl: and even when he is done he still likes to help mummy with what she has. Luckily he likes proper food -he has tried choc twice and spat it out (not something he gets from me
) and he has never tried sweets. He loves extra mature cheddar and proper dinners, marmite on toast etc loves fruit, yogs and an occasional trifle -so Im hoping this will last.
god Im yapping again..better get off and check on lunch and then if Charlie goes for a nap later I will meal plan,,,
Have a lovely afternoon all and keep up the great work...-6 -8 -3 -1.5 -2.5 -3 -1.5-3.50 -

My dd is 21 months and my quick sw meals to have at hand ready to scoff are things like - batchelors rice (can eat cold) batchelors pasta, beans, poached eggs (hard to do with a mini clinging to me though) quite often I have leftovers as well, low fat super noodles are quick? Obv throw loads of pickled onions and beetroots on the side for ease x followed by a fruit chaser
Since she dropped her nap its been easier as I do us both lunch which is normally similar to each other.
If only shed sleep at night I'd feel more human xStarted sw 02/09/13 - total loss so far -5st 1lb

I've managed to read all the posts but can't keep up with the volume. I wouldn't want anyone to feel ignored so do re-post if you have a question that slips through. No offence intended. This is a lovely thread and all are welcome.:A
Thanks for posting the pictures mich.
I love Sainsbury's half syn sausages. They're great with a meal and super for snacking on cold. My favourite HEB bread is the Seed Sensations Wholemeal but sometimes I just buy basic Hovis wholemeal as I don't have to make a special trip to Sainsbury's for it and it tends to be about 50p cheaper per loaf. I have to say that I do tend to tweak the mince. It's rare that 5% is on offer (notice that it may be with Ocado but not in Waitrose:() so I tend to buy the lowest one available and then drain carefully after browning. It's a compromise I know. Have copied the SC mince recipe. I think I could enjoy it myself for a quick lunch as a change from soup but it would make a good base for a cottage pie too. Also finished off the last of the SW burgers on Friday so need to make some more.
sary, I've no ambitions to trump:o, but how do you do your cabbage with leeks? My veg can get a bit samey so always looking for ideas.
DH is still manfully eating his way through LO cheeses and crisps etc. bless him. I'm trying to be strong and resist. I think I might go and make a frittata soon as I must have something to snack on to stop me fancying 'naughties' and dinner isn't until much later.
Today's EE menu:
B: NAS Ribena, HEB porage, HEA milk
L: Satsuma so far;)roast beef, SW roast potatoes and parsnips, cabbage, carrots, cauli, broccoli
Syns: squirt of syrup, gravy and maybe some horseradish
