Good morning everyone
I have had a brief scan through everyones posts - there are so many since i last posted in this thread . talk about fast moving..:rotfl:
Massive congratulations to everyone who has lost this week, hugs for the maintainers & gainers..:grouphug:
Mildredd - any news on the appointment yet? Dont give yourself such a hard time for not being on plan 100%. You are going through a hard time and being in pain is no fun.
Saint Chris - better a 1lb off then on. Just keep going. Chances are you will get a better loss next week.
Top Girl/Maman - I am nearly always on green these days. I prefer them as there isnt as much pressure to eat a shed load of fruit or to have the 1/3 superfree at every meal. I remember when i first joined SW i had a really hard time understanding the green/red days and like you just used to stick to EE. It definitely takes some getting used too and i do wish the SW consultants would also discuss the red/green plans at the joining stage.
Spendless karen - Good luck at your first session.
Last night was pretty hairy with the winds..i dont admitting that i felt very unsettled/scared as it was reported on the local news that 92mph had been recorded in my area .I cant say i was overly surprised as i do live in a very exposed area..all the same i was pooping bricks . The house was rattling. The window panes were rattling and i thought the windows were going to come through at one stage. Next door had their patio window broken from a flying trampoline. This morning it looked like a couple of trees had come down as well.. I am glad its all over.
This morning i went to weigh myself and as always i was very apprehensive about stepping on the scales especially as its still *week (although its the latter stages now) but pleased to report i have lost another 2lbs . This is now week 7 and to date i have not had a single gain which is an amazing feeling :j
Green for me
B - 2 x toast (hex b x 2) with spread & marmite
L - Cauliflower, potato & butternut squash curry. Used tin toms & spices to make the sauce - (1 as cooked veg with oil rather than frylight)
D - Quinoa with quorn , mushrooms, peas, peppers & an onion. Philaldelphia light ( 75g) as sauce (hex a x 1)
Snacks - tangerine, Options (2), milk for 2nd hex a.
ETA - Dairy milk bar - 11
Undergrad degree - completed 2018
Masters degree - completed 20190 -
Mildredd - it's great your still trying to keep on plan even with your pain x.. i like to do red and greens because that's what they did when i originally joined. Never really got on with EE that well as I don't like a lot of superfrees, but i try to do EE more now as i know it's healthier.
Mumoftwo and RFD - Great losses :T and maman :T for satying within target range..
Good luck Karen x enjoy your first meeting x
I've managed to stick to plan again so far today even though they've all had lovely sandwiches and sweets at workto be honest i got a bit excited this morning thinking that i might be under 14 stone in a few weeks so i think that's motivated me a bit.
14 stone is my sticking/settling point - anyone else have one of those in the past - no matter how much you try you always go back up and stick at that weight.
This time i'm going to get through it and then some! :j
Good luck everyone for the rest of the day xxMortgage amount at 31/12/2011 £166,050 now £0 as at Sept 21 - 15yrs 4 months early.0 -
Good luck, hope you like it. It's great when you get all the books and you are all fired up and ready to go, want to read everything and go shopping for the right foods. Wish I could feel that motivation every week
Wouldn't it be fab if we could bottle that feeling? It's great when you're really fired up for it, and just want to get started.
Mildredd - well done for trying to keep to plan. I don't think I would cope in your position.
Good losses RFD & Mumoftwo :T

I'm 3lb away from 14, and would really like to get through it. My usual sticking point has been 12 st 2lb. I get down that far, and then just don't seem to be able to get any further. The thing is that whilst I can look better at that weight, I still look overweight, so I never feel like I've managed to get 'properly' slimmer.
Like you, this time it WILL happen!
Well, I got up at stupid O'clock this morning (any alarm that starts with a 4 should be banned in my book). Feeling absolutely shattered now after driving to the airport & back. OH has let me know they've landed safely... in the rain! :rotfl:
Lack of sleep really does make me feel dodgy, especially for the first few hours I'm awake, so I didn't feel like eating before we left, and then I was starvin' marvin en route home. Got stuck in a big traffic jam near the A1, so was going to be much later home. Ended up pulling off the motorway and buying a McD's breakfast. I had a bacon roll with a coffee. Can I count the bacon as free or not, as I took the fat off it? In fact it was very lean, which impressed me, but I presume it may be the way they cook it that counts? Have looked it up and it's 13.5 for a sub roll, or 17 for the ketchup bacon roll from McD's.
Have just had a spot of lunch, which was leftovers, but now feel I need a nap, and fading fast. Son #4 went into school, but has had to come home after shot-blasting the sports dept. with vom! _pale_ so I've picked him up, and put him to bed.
Think today will be EE for simplicity
B - Bacon roll (17), hash brown (4)
L - LO SW lasagne, lettuce, cucumber, tomatoes. Danio yogurt (1)
D - Chicken something or other. Not even thought about what to do for dinner. Might do a chicken & bacon pasta dish, as all my boys like that. Will have some salad alongside mine.
Well, as today is a day for drawing lines, I'll be drawing mine now.

Hi All
not sure if anyone remembers me.....its been a while, but after a gruesome few months I'm feeling well enough to try get back on the wagon again. Hope you're all doing ok (soooooo many new names & a gazillion pages to catch up on!!!) x0 -
Does anyone here ever use the fresh rice noodles from tesco? They are in the fresh food section with the stir fry veg etc.
I realised they would have syns as they have oil added to keep them separated, but I've just looked in my food directory and it says 13.5 syns per pack on green and ee?!
That seems really high? Is there really that much oil in them?
Just wondered if anyone knew if that was correct or whether I've looked up the wrong thing?
I'm going to have to experiment with dried rice noodles and soak them before I stir fry them. I assume dried rice noodles are free on green and ee? Not sure if it's going to taste as nice though?
I was getting really excited about cooking singapore rice noodles next week and it being relatively low in syns as it is all fresh meat, veg and noodles with the ratios of each being suitable for ee days!0 -
Final challenge wi and 2lb off. Hugs to those that need them and well done to those that have had the results that they wanted for the challange.0

Not sure about the syn value of those fresh noodles, but someone (I think it was Maman looked up for me those straight to wok noodles and she said they were 1 syn per small packet)
I like the dried noodles, I cook them, drain and plunge them into cold water and then stir fry all the other ingredients, drain the noodles and add them to the stir fry, I prefer them like that although my family likes the straight to wok type.
I love noodle stir fries, because you can add so much to them, lots of different veg and/or beef, chicken, prawns and you feel you are eating something filling and delicious. I add my own garlic, ginger, 5 spice and soya sauce, no packet sauce so no syns! But you could if you want to spend some syns on a sauce.0 -
I think amoy do some straight to wok rice noodles, I'll look up the syns for those too.
I think I'll try and do it with the fresh, dried and straight to wok and see what difference it makes. Do you find the dried noodles go gloopy after soaking? I think I've tried them before and it ended up a mess!
The whole batch made the current way with the fresh noodles makes two huge portions. Once the syns for the sesame oil is added (frylight just wouldn't work for this), it totals 15 1/2 syns. Split into two, 7 syns isn't bad and it is really nice so worth it IMO.
The rest of the ingredients are just fresh ginger, garlic, cardamon seeds and hot curry powder, rice vinegar, light soy sauce and a dash of concentrated chicken stock. The mixed chicken, pork and prawns wuld be free, as would the carrot, onion, green pepper, bean sprouts and bamboo shoots.
Would that count as an EE meal or have I got it wrong? There's a lot of veg in the dish, so definitely a third (if not more) is superfree food.0 -
The cooked noodles don't go mushy if you plunge them into a pan with cold water and leave them there till you need them0
