saint chris~I don't think it is because you are eating more.
I think you are not eating enough if you are only having one main meal a day.
You really need to kick start your metabolism in the morning by eating something.
    Just my thoughts.

I am eating 3 meals a day now, but before I started sw I was only having 1 meal a day.

It sounds as though you're not having enough syns. They are an important part of the plan. You should be having at least 5 syns a day, although to start it is better to have 15 and then you've got somewhere to cut back later if you plateau.

Well week 2 weigh in, and I had to say I was disappointed

    lost 1lb

I've been real good for the week, and I've had loads of veg, even did a sunday dinner s/w style with no gravy
Ate loads of fruit, with a vanilla muller light yogurt, for deserts most night.
Had 1 vodka diet coke on sat night, I've spent a fortune on good food, I've not had many syns.

I'm used to not eating breakfast and dinner and just having a tea, hubby thinks it's because I'm now eating more food that my loss is slow.

    Back to the drawing board.

Saint Chris, that's exactly how I felt at the start. I lost 3.5 first week then stayed the same for the next 2 despite keeping to the plan. Third week I lost a pound, last week I didn't weigh myself as I hadn't stuck to plan, this week WI today, I've lost another 1lb taking my tota l to 5.5lbs in 6 weeks, so slow, yes, but heading in right direction. I think my body took a few weeks to get accustomed to the new way of eating. Keep at it - you'll be fine xx

Meant to add: I am quite new to SW but have found the advice invaluable from those who have been doing SW for a while,

Extra easy day again (I just don't *get* the others)

Breakfast - Trimmed bacon, poached egg, plum tomatoes and mushrooms on HEXB toast with a brew with a splash of milk (1)

Dinner - Tuna pasta salad (1), french fries (4)

Snack - an apple, some pineapple and some carrot sticks (separately, I'm not that odd :D)

Football tea :D - SW chips with HEXA melted cheese on and mayflower curry sauce (3) with a huge ice cold pint of... 7up light

Morning all :) (or is it afternoon? :D sorry this student life is getting to me already :rotfl:)
Maman, I'm currently writing a TMA on Doctor Faustus. I'm more of a linguist but I love reading so I'm trying to plough on as I really need literature for my teacher training. The materials we get now are really good, I have DVD's and the website and things and also my tutor group has 2 tutors in tutorial- we merged with another group at the same time as they were a bigger group and it's a fantastic help to have 2 viewpoints. My tutor is really nice- her postgrad speciality is philosophy so she offers a different viewpoint from the other tutor whose speciality is literature- that in itself is good because when they combine you get different ideas but they share ways of working which seems to work really well.
Sorry I'm waffling! That's one thing we've been warned not to do in TMA01 ;)

I did a course with Faustus, Heaney etc in, AA100 I think? How far into your OU journey are you?

Presumably you will have to do a level 3 lit course, if so, find out when EA300 Children's Literature finishes and try to get in before it does if you can. It's a crossover with Literature and Childhood Studies and is far less literary if you don't really enjoy lit courses and you're doing it because you HAVE to. Also, you get to study Harry Potter :)
