Hi everyone, do you mind if I join you?
I'm Lucy, i'm 5'6 and currently 14 stone 7lbs. I started SW on the 17th October weighing 16 stone 8.5 lbs, so am over 2 stones down. I was pushing a size 22 but now a size 18. I don't really have a target weight set, but want to get to 13 stones before June when I am a bridesmaid. Ideally I would like to be a comfortable size 14. Hopefully my size 20 dress will swamp me and need lots of taking in!!
I had my "baby" boy 2.5 years ago and can no longer use "baby weight" as an excuse!
I'm finding it all OK so far. Christmas and being off work has been hard, but hoping to get back into the swing of things once work starts properly on Monday.... although I am off on holiday the following Saturday!
I love the Actifry we bought - that has been brilliant and meant I can still have really crunchy chips and wedges.
Anyway, I hope you don't mind me joining, my group is lovely and have a great consultant but nice to have people to chat to about SW during the week xxxxxxx0 -

Welcome amazelucy  nice to 'meet' you.
Sounds like you are doing really well so far - I struggled a bit when I was out of routine over Xmas & New Year - it is much easier to stick to SW when I am at work.0 -
 "room for 1 more?"
Just had a PM on facebook from the lovely TakeItEazy -very well timed it was too! so if you will have me back I would be very :j
I recognise some of you oldies...... and hello to one and all.
I will do an update on the damage to my weight and have a catch up later once I have a few minutes to call my own...
Have a good day everyone...-6 -8 -3 -1.5 -2.5 -3 -1.5-3.50 -
Can you tell me how much 1% milk allowance per day please, I am using 300ml as that seems to between skimmed and semi skimmed.
Thank you
300mls is right for Co-op and Sainsbury's but 'The One 1%' is 280 mls.gingerfurball wrote: »Maman - I would have saved syns for wine and I'm off it for January and I don't really have a sweet tooth...is it necessary to have the syns? I'm not saving them for anything...I did make DH a hot chocolate last night (I had herbal tea) - maybe I'll make me one tonight too.
The syns are built into the plan and many people make the mistake of thinking they will lose more by cutting them out. SW worry that without them you might feel deprived and give up. I don't have a sweet tooth either so would use syns for perhaps cheese or cornflour in sauces/gravy. Or a treat like a Chinese or Indian or butter on a JP? If it's only for January though you might like to just go with the hot choc otherwise you might want wine and all the extra syns come February!:rotfl:
I HAD to eat it, right? How many syns are in one minstrel?
Apparently 25g is 6.5 syns but life's too short to weigh a Minstrel!;)
I'll be joining in the challenge too. Thank you so much for volunteering 2b:):A. I'm more or less back on plan as of today but I won't know whether I'll need to lose a bit or STS until WI on Thursday. Whatever happens it'll be a target of staying at lower end of target range.0 -
Amaze lucy - we have something in common. I started in April 16st 13lbs am now 12.7 (after a 3lb) Christmas gain sob
I'm a size 14 now but want to be a size 10 for being bridesmaid in July !!0 -
I will join the challenge too!
Weighed in at 11 stone 11 on Wednesday morning, going to have my WI days as Fridays from now on as it's easier for me to be 'good' at weekends, need to lose around 2 stone.
Should we have a separate WI thread for the challenge? Sorry, I'm the new kid so I don't know how these things work.0 -
google docs spreadsheets look easy enough to do.. can be set up so everyone can add their own names then and input weekly totals.. shala was a star for doing it, looks quite a job for one person to keep on top of.. but if 2b is up for it am sure everyone would be grateful0

Mildredd - Re why don't you stop now!
I get that all the flipping time along with "How much more do you want to loose" in an accusatory tone of voice.
Like I've spent the majority of my adult life a size 16 - to a size 20 so why on earth would I stop now when its working for me!
I just want to look nice and be able to wear nice clothes and not be the odd one out - is that hard for people to understand lol
Also when I started and people asked me how much I wanted to lose I said at least 6 stone and they were shocked and some disgusted lol
Here I am 4 .7 stone down and I reckon I've still got over two stone to shift and some people think its all a bit odd and don't believe that I'm just eating healthily - think they think I've had a gastric band lol
My advice - ignore ignore ignore as people would drive you mad with there comments - please yourself and nobody else0 -
Found the following Big Mac Bowl recipe on Minimins:
Big Mac In A Bowl
Only 2 Syns per serving on Extra Easy
Ingredients:
Extra lean minced beef
Chopped onion
Pickled gherkins, chopped into slices
3 slices of Asda lighter burger cheese slices (cut into chunks) Use this as your HEA
Shredded iceberg lettuce
2 Tbsp of Kraft light thousand island dressing (This is the 2 syns as it is 1 syn per tbsp)
Cook the mince and onion, once cooked add the sliced gherkins stirring well, then add 2 slices of cheese & allow it to melt slightly. Add the thousand island dressing and the iceberg lettuce.
Top with the last slice of cheese & serve!
Sounds good to me, might even make it for work next week and take a big salad in too.0 -
