Happy new year and happy new thread.
WI last night and I put on 1lb. Was happy as between christmas eve and new years day i ate exactly what i wanted when i wanted as well as having wine very day. The difference being what i want this year is different from last year - totally different way of thinking.
And only 1 person in group lost - everyone else put on - mainly 3-5lbs on average.

Hello peeps, well yesterday was good, but today more of a challenge as I have several biggish things to sort, and that crutch of food is looming, hence if I write this post it well help me focus, focus, focus.

Menu: w/bix and sk milk (HEA).....

and herin lies the second issue, must do more to plan the menus. Just not inspired, but have a leak and pot soup on the freezer, so will try and get into sainbobs with this in mind as I fancy some of the BGTY sausages.

    Mantra: no wine no weight

Frogga I too have a heavy brain which weighs a tonne, I also have very big and hair which must also count!

That would be fab but it is a HUGE ask ;) Shala was fantastic for doing it before but I bet it got too much at times? If you do decide, we'll have to think of a challenge name and time scale? How about the next half term, that's 6 weeks, and takes us up to Friday 14th Feb so Valentines Day.

And I'm shortening your name to 2b, it's annoying :D SO thanks 2b, but think about it first xxxxxxxxxxxx

Sounds like a plan and I'm happy to! I kept up the lists on the TTC thread, and then the pregnancy threads!

Can someone point me in the direction of the old one so I can re-start it, if poss? Thank you!

Off for my hypnotherapy today to help in conjunction with SW, feeling nervous, anxious and worried that I've just blown a LOT of money!

Oh and frogga, I actually usually refer to myself as 2b too, good decision! ;)

I'm crawling back in for the umpteenth time. I tried the CAD diet a few months back which is low carb and it sorted out a lot of carb cravings I had but it's quite restrictive and I think to be able to stick to something long term SW might be better for me, so here I go again.

I really want this to be my year to get my eating under control, I'm 50 next year and my silver wedding anniversary so it would be absolutely fabulous if I could be a healthy weight and not morbidly obese!
  • Morning all - how nice to be in such a chatty group!! :)

    Yesterday went well I think...

B: 35g porridge oats made up with skimmed milk and a sprinkling of sweetner (I'm hoping I'm right that that is my HEXB and HEXA for the day??)
L: big salad with ham and chicken (1 tbs salad cream...2.5 syns??)
D: chicken stir fry (loads of veg and mushrooms) with egg noodles, chilli and ginger - it was yum!!
Snacks were mandarin oranges and a muller light - 2L water (no booze *happy dance*)

    Today will be:
B: 35g porridge and skimmed milk (please someone tell me if this is right as I haven't had it yet lol)
    L: same salad as yesterday
D: steak, salad, mushrooms, tomatoes and SW chips

Not sure about exercise - unless I may have to go help build an Ark as the weather is something else here!!

not much of a drinker so not a problem there...
my problem is what to cook... so the recipe thread is brilliant ty...

Sounds lovely to have a holiday as a goal picnic. Where are you going?

I do use SW recipes but mostly I just adapt what we've always eaten.
    Hi,

    Today my meals have been,

2 weetabix skimmed milk 1tsp sugar

    Banana, pineapple, activia yoghurt.

1 Fillet of Haddock with poached egg and 1 slice of wholemeal bread

    3 glasses of water
    2 cups of tea

How does this look? would it be classed as a green day?

Overall I'd say not much food and only 'overt' syns in a tsp of sugar. On Green you're allowed 2 HEAs and 2 HEBs. You have 3 HEBs (Weetabix, bread and haddock) and (depending how much milk you had) 1 HEA. So you'd need to decide which of those to syn. bread is about 4/5 syns so depends on size of haddock fillet.

    Good luck.
Did I just read that mushy peas are free?? This excites me! Lol as I brought a whole tray from Aldi last year when they were down to 4p! Thought that in the event of an apocalypse, I could just through them at the zombies for that price!!!
Was thinking of having a can with hm SW chips tomorrow for tea.

That's right, definitely free. I might have a can myself tonight now you've mentioned it.;) What you do need to be careful of is that while peas and beans are free they're not superfree and you should have at least a third of your meal/food as SFs. So your chicken and new potatoes would need a load of carrots to make a third. You could either fit in lots of fruit snacks to make it up or have another veg alongside.

I watched part of one of those programmes lantanna about how people lose weight and put it all back on again. I know it happens and they seemed mostly yo-yo dieters who'd tried every wacky thing going. What I found difficult was one woman who said she thought she put it back on because she knew she had the knack of dieting it off again and enjoyed the thrill/compliments of getting thin again??? I found that hard to understand. I won't put on more than a few pounds before taking myself in hand and I NEVER tire of feeling thin.

I'm going to do my mealplan and shop soon so starting to feel a bit back on track.

    Today's EE plan:
B: NAS Ribena, HEB toast, HEA milk, scrambled egg
L: eat up some satsumas;) and veg soup if hungry enough
D: SW burgers, SW wedges, peas, fried onions, mushrooms and tomatoes
    Syns: squirt of sauce

I know I'll have wine syns because it's the weekend.:o Definitely back on the wagon ASAP.
