Re yogurts - Rachel's organic fat free yogurt is free, and only contains yogurt. I find mullerlites much too sweet, though I will confess to liking the Turkish delight ones. But other yogurts are available!

I haven't been on here for a few weeks and have been reading back through the posts. hope your appointment goes well SC.

I have been messing around with SW recently. Lost the weight I'd gained over Christmas and then put it all straight back on again, plus some. I only gained 1/2 lb this week so hopefully have turned the tide. However since the end of September when I joined I have only lost 6lb overall which is pants compared to some of the losses on here and in group.

Anyway I am drawing a line and starting again from now.

Today so far I have had
    Apple banana and f/f yogurt
    Lunch will be homemade soup
Tea not sure but maybe SW chips with something.

I'm now going to earn some body magic by starting work on redecorating my bedroom. Have been putting it off as I hate sanding paintwork., once that's done I enjoy it.

Hugs all round, whether it's commiserations or congratulations.

    E

Wrong! There are actually 14.7 grams of sugar in a 100g pot of this yoghourt. Thanks for replying though.

Carluccio's for lunch (we're seeing a lot of friends this week!!). I had the seafood liguine, which was delicious. I had a look at the menu before I went. I still don't know about syns, because SW information really is limited isn't it?

Going back a week or so when I had the Skinny Steak and salad at Wetherspoons and it may have been a questionable choice - - - - SW website actually suggests that the steak, Jacket potato/mushrooms/tomato and peas choice is a good one to make. Although I don't think their assessment of the syns reflects that!! Anyway I would think that the steak, without all the rest but with a free salad probably isn't that bad. We also pinned down the chef who's the brother of a friend, and he said the steaks are done on a griddle with a minimum amount of vegetable oil to prevent sticking.

Pennylane - Just to jump in the yogurt/sugar debate.. most of the sugar in yogurt comes from the milk i.e. it's lactose, it isn't refined sugar added to the yogurt. If it doesn't state it on the label then it doesn't have refined sugar added.

It's the same as eating fruit, fruit has a lot of sugar in it from the fructose but you wouldn't necessarily think that fruit is bad.

I've found a link about it if you want a read here it basically says that our bodies react differently because we eat the "sugar" with protein, fibre and water.

and just to copy a passage (to show it's nearly the same as drinking milk)

"1 cup of skim milk has about 10 grams of naturally-occurring sugar, and 1 cup plain low-fat yogurt has about 12 grams."

Shall I get to a point? :rotfl:Natural yogurt isn't unhealthy, in some research Greek yogurt is supposedly helpful in burning belly fat.. but as with anything you shouldn't be eating it non-stop as it stills contains calories.

    Evening all,

Hope you've had good weekends. Boy, don't they go fast!?

Mine was a tad off piste yesterday, but whilst I didn't exactly eat compltely within plan because we were out, it also wasn't massively food laden. Today was definitely better. Hope WI tomorrow won't have been too badly affected.

    Yesterday was an EE day

B - I missed because I got caught up doing chores
L - Bacon Sandwich HeB + wm bread slice 5 syns
    D - McD's  chicken selects + fries 21 syns!!!!
    HeA - milk in teas

I would usually have had the McD salad, but as I'd not eaten enough all day I was absolutely starving by the time we got there, without the prospect of getting anything else for a good while. There comes a point where starving really appealing. As it is, it's a rare indulgence, it's done now.

I went out for a nice walk with OH today, as a means of a bit of damage limitation.

Today was better : EE Day
B - porridge HeB, milk HeA, banana
L - left-over spag bol (with lots of hidden veg), cheese 4 syns (less than that but counting it anyway)
D - NuMe sausages x 2 = 2 syn, 1 meatfree italian sausage 1.5 syns, mash, five heinz beans, gravy 1.5 syns. Tangerine.
    Snack - apple
    Total syns: 9

TIE - I suffer from neuralgia and it absolutely kills, I hope your pain stays away.

Beanie - Save yourself, chuck the choccies over here!! ;)

Re. the tweak foods/recipes. I've not really attempted to try any of them, as I suspect I'd only be disappointed. I guess if you really do struggle to go without the high syn foods, it's a compromise. For me I'd rather save up some syns and have the real thing every now and again (<< that sentence could be completely misconstrued as meaning something entirely different!) ;)
