Hi everyone! Been having a really rubbish day at work today but it will not get me down as I have a lovely dinner to look forward to:
Breakfast - Activia 0% yogurt, banana, alpen light bar (1/2 HEB)
Lunch - Tomato and Pepper soup, cucumber and cherry tomatoes
Snack - Activia 0% yogurt, 2 clemetines
Dinner - Cheesy salmon pasta: baked salmon fillet with spaghetti, low fat cream cheese (HEA), mushrooms and green beans
Evening Snack - Alpen light bar (1/2 HEB) and a cup of tea (0.5 syns)
I'm keeping the syns low this week (or practically non-existent!) as I'm going to book club on Saturday and will treat myself to a glass of wine and some nibbles.Emergency Fund - £8572.39 / £10,000 :: Mortgage OP 2025 - £LISA 24/25 - £3200 / £4000 :: NSD 2025 - 2 / 150 :: Books Read: 1 / 52 :: Decluttering - 4 / 1000Engaged 9th December 2010 :: Married 29th October 2015 :: Bought a House 13th January 20170 -
Macpep - Hateful I know, but keep drinking as it is the only cure for water retention, also re bowel movements - I'd mention that to your Dr the next time your there as that is a long time hun xx
I have only drank 750ml of water + 1 tea, 1 green tea, 1 coffee & will prob drink water with my dinnergingerfurball wrote: »mcpep - try some chia seeds or linseeds in some yogurt or just mixed into some warm water...they really are wee miracles!sarymclary wrote: »
I don't think that's water you're retainingMy partner finds that salad causes him the same problem, whereas has the opposite effect on me. Have you considered using a fibre supplement to help things along? Most people would have a movement daily, so having gone in 5 days is not usual. Maybe a natural remedy taken overnight, to see a result the following morning, without being extreme. :eek:
Are you aware of any foods that can help you 'go' more? I find strawberries, raspberries, etc. help, and plenty of fluid should actually help too. Maybe also some healthy oils in your meals (remember to syn or HEB them) can be beneficial. Maybe chat with your Dr. or pharmacist? Hope you feel more comfortable soon.
Thanks Everyone, I have always had "issues" that way, I was on 2 sachets of movical a day from doctor & when I stopped SW I didn't need it, I was going every day, now I have re-started I am having trouble again, :mad: I think I will need to get a repeat prescription, I have bowels of steel, even Dyno Rod Soup doesnt get me going!!! I dont' think there are any foods that make me go any more, I eat strawbs melon etc every day.

I had 2 kiwis after my lunch and have had another bowel movement and haven't stopped peeing since - I googled to see if they are diuretic and apparently they are highly diuretic and are also a laxative - so maybe worth a try?
Getting nervous for wi - eek ! lol0 -

McCain Rustic Chips: I used to get them in Sainsbury's or even Farmfoods at one time (no longer). I do like them, they're a bit more like wedges than chips IMO.
They seem to be on offer in all shops at 2 for £3 at the moment. I stopped buying them when they went up from £1 to £1.50 and now the proper price can be as much as £2 a bag.
They're a good stand-by for CBA days but I don't find them that different to SW wedges.0 -

I usually get mine in Asd@ or Tesc0. I can see why you would likem them to wedges as they are quite chunky. They can be a little dry if you don't have vinegar/baked beans/something in sauce with them, but they are deffo worth around 2.5 syns for loads XxDebts @ LBM £23,729.31. Debts @ 08/04/2016 £0 :j
