mcpep - try some chia seeds or linseeds in some yogurt or just mixed into some warm water...they really are wee miracles!

Are chia seeds syns? I came across a recipe for black bean soup with chia seeds yesterday and wondered as it sounds like I could tweak it to make it free.

Anyone notice any place where the weight is coming off...my wedding and engagement ring are getting very loose...and I feel it off around my neck and shoulder...just need it to come off my big old fat tummy!!

Mine has started to go from the under-boobage boobage IYKWIM, and a bit off my thighs, as I can get in some jeans that were too tight. Still a lot more to go, and my tummy, when I'm sat down looks like I'm pregnant!

I am feeling sooo bloated just now, I am drinking approx 2-3 750ml bottles water, 2 cups tea, 1 cup coffee & 1 green tea per day, I think I need to cut back on the water as I feel like a camel storing water!!! Also not had a proper bowel movement yet since last saturday :(

I don't think that's water you're retaining :o My partner finds that salad causes him the same problem, whereas has the opposite effect on me. Have you considered using a fibre supplement to help things along? Most people would have a movement daily, so having gone in 5 days is not usual. Maybe a natural remedy taken overnight, to see a result the following morning, without being extreme.

Are you aware of any foods that can help you 'go' more? I find strawberries, raspberries, etc. help, and plenty of fluid should actually help too. Maybe also some healthy oils in your meals (remember to syn or HEB them) can be beneficial. Maybe chat with your Dr. or pharmacist? Hope you feel more comfortable soon.

Does anyone have a gravy recipe please?
I don't wanna make proper gravy and use 4 -6 syns on my sausage dinner later ;)

(Sneaky wi this morning has shown movement on the thing so I'm happy)

I use bisto gravy granules, or syn cornflour at 1 syn per tsp to thicken up a stock cube. My consultant swears the stock pots will thicken up if boiled with water for long enough, but I need my gravy quickly, so am prepared to use a few syns. I think bisto is about 1.5 syns per tbsp, and I usually have one or two tbsp with a meal.

P.s. Yay! for the sneaky peek :j

Well after a morning sat looking at the torrential rain, thinking this was going to be a proper miserable day, it's now nice and sunny, so I'm going off out for a walk. I've been promising to do this since the start of the year, but have been too darned lazy really. I also hate the wind or rain, or fog, as a walk simply isn't enjoyable for me if so. I'm wrapping up warm, and have downloaded an audio book to listen to to while away the time (I get a bit bored too), so that way I can walk at a steady pace, and hopefully do some good.

    Food plan today:
    Extra Easy

B - Magic porridge HEB in a banana caramel activia 2.5 syns & banana (absolutely delicious, and very, very filling). I also added a splash of milk as they really are thick and creamy.
L - 2 x SW muffin quiches, sweet chilli chicken breast 3 syns, mixed salad, lf dressing 1 syn, Danio passion fruit yogurt 1.5 syns
D - shepherds pie with lots of veggies, and beans mixed in. Allow 3 syns for gravy used.
    HEB - milk
    Total syns = 11

I just tried to look up the syns for the sweet chilli chicken I had for lunch, but the pack I have isn't listed, and I'm rather horrified to see something that looks similar is 7.5 syns, but think that's the whole pack, in which case I've had less than half, but even so, I thought it was a bit of a healthier choice... lesson learned, and presume the clue was in the 'sweet' chilli.

Good luck anyone at WI today.

Also, thanks to everyone who contributes here each day, I really do find this thread helps to support me, and keep me on the straight and narrow. I know we all have wobbles, and RL stuff that gets in the way, but I find it's reassuring to know you guys are all here, following a similar journey, and understand. :)

well, went to WI this morning and know I shouldn't be but have to admit to being a little disappointed with 1lb loss as feeling that i'd lost more this week.. but not to worry it was a loss so that's good.. now.. to get 2 in a row! ;)

    challenge wk 3: -1lb please 2b :)

olive oil and sunflower oil frylight are reduced to £1.50 in Tesco, not sure how long for..

Hopefully you'll see it rollover into next week - but a loss is still a loss :)

Back from WI and have lost 1lb which I'm pleased with as it means I got back into target range and didn't have to pay!

Change of plan for lunch - I bought a pack of duck sushi and a pack of fruit at Tesco when I went shopping and sat and ate them in the car before driving how! Had crispbreads & ham when I got home. So that's HEB + 1.5 syns so far.

SW onion gravy is really nice but does take ages to cook!

    For 2 portions:

    2 large onions, thinly sliced
    0.5 tsp cornflour
    250ml veg stock
    1 Tbs balsamic vinegar
    1 tsp dried thyme

Spray a large frying pan with Frylight over a medium-low heat. Add the onions and fry for 2-3 minutes. Reduce the heat to low and continue to cook for 15-20 minutes or until soft, stirring occasionally.

Stir in the cornflour, then the stock, vinegar and thyme and bring to the boil. Turn the heat back to low and cook for another 15-20 minutes or until thickened.

That's only 0.5 syns between you!

Working on the basis that a standard size portion of chip shop chips are 17.5, and a standard portion of fast food french fries are 11.5, I'd be tempted to guestimate at around 10 based on portion size.
That's just my humble opinion though!

By the way, McCain's rustic oven chips (frozen, skins on) are only 10 syns for the whole bag which I can get 4 very decent sized portions from. Handy to have in when you'd prefer 'proper' chips to SW ones. Xx

Didn't know this - quite excited by this!! lol

    Thanks :)
