Hi all. I have just subscribed to this thread as my first ever subscription as it looks like it is the inspiration I need!
I have started sw today but doing it by myself at home using books from last year.
Good luck everyone with weight loss journeys in January.

    Quick hide, Piglet's coming...

Haha love it! Thanks Frogga :rotfl:

Only just caught up with everyone so...

I'm 22, 5.5" and currently 13st 6lbs. I'm just about able to squeeze into size 14s but if they are work trousers they have to be a 16 even though they are baggy! I started SW in November to try and get ahead of the Christmas gain, when I first started I was 13st 5lbs so Christmas has only beaten me by 1lb.

Hoping to be a size 10 and just under 10stone by the summer!

Fed up of being the fat one refusing to have their photo taken and as captain of a ladies cricket team I should really be fitter!

    Welcome newbies!

Arsenalbarnie - think I will look at that giving up alcohol thread as well!

Piglet a size 10 and under 10 stone is my dream for the summer as well.

I'm going to motor on and try and get my 5 stone award by the end of this month. Should be just over half a stone to lose. Fingers crossed.

    Hello!

Please can I join you all - I started today and have a LOT to lose. Having a session of hypnotherapy tomorrow too, which I hope will help me to stay on track and not sabotage like I normally do.

I've had success with WW in the past, but ultimately feel long term SW is something I could stick to.

I've found this sun values/cals online, from googling. I have the books, but want something to carry around with me for quick working out, is this true/up to date does anybody know?

How much do you have to lose to get there? I've decided I'm giving up drinking for January. First hurdle to get through is a friends 30th Sat night, thank goodness I'm working on Sunday. Will deter me from the alcohol.

2 stone 4 lbs would see me at 10 stone. Drinking is my biggest vice as well & when I drink I tend to go in the cupboards!

I was thinking of doing a dry January but I think that will put me under too much pressure as I have exams coming up - so instead I have decided to only allow drinking on Friday / Saturday. I used to do this but towards the last few months of 2013 school night drinking was sinking back in. Don't be too hard on yourself - I find when I am unrealistic or are too hard on myself I epically fail! We are allowed to enjoy ourselves too - I will definitely be drinking less in 2014 thought I'm not going to ban it for Jan as I'll crack under the first hurdle lol

Planning a chicken and bacon salad for tea and will use my he allowance for cheesy sw chips.

Happy new year everyone. I forgot to post after my WI on Monday. The damage wasn't too bad, although I hadn't been particularly 'naughty' over Christmas anyway, but relaxing the rules will always impact I find. So a 2.5lb gain for me. Fortunately I didn't buy in a great deal of sweet/treat stuff, and what was there the men in my house are more than happy to polish off.

Well stats-wise I'm 47 5'1" (if I stretch my neck, and it's first thing in the morning) started SW in November at a hefty 15.3, and got my 1/2 stone award the week before Christmas. Rather annoyed to be back at 14.12.5, but it can only go down. My mini-target is to get down to 13.10, which will be my Club 10. In the long-run I'd like to be a size 12, which I have never been in my adult life, having always been a 14 or more. I think to get to a 12 I'll need to be at 10 stone or under. I'm currently in size 18's top and bottom, or a generous sized 16 top. I've always been big, and it would just be wonderful to feel 'normal'.

Have been back on plan since before the new year, and going to class definitely helps me to stay on track. I'm not that keen on my group as such, the happy clapping is annoying, and the consultant just reads pre-prepared speeches, that I'm convinced she just goes through year on year. There's not much opportunity for chatting amongst the group to share ideas, which I think would be beneficial. She's been a consultant for a good few years though, so I suppose she's set in her ways. She's a nice lady, with a kind heart though, so I forgive her the boring speeches for that :D

    Food plan for today:
B : porridge (HExB), milk (HExA) + extra porridge 4.5 syns, tsp sugar 1 syn
L : Noodle Pot + leeks & cabbage. Banana, apple, FF yogurt
D : Sainsb. Cumb. sausages x 3 (1.5 syns), mash, lots of veggies, gravy 1.5 syns
    Total syns: 8.5 syns

I'm going to try to keep to under the 15 daily syn allowance, because I'm convinced my extra porridge is affecting my weight loss, despite counting it, although my sister does the same, and she's lost double what I have in the same timeframe :/ Unfortunately I think my metabolism is just very, very slow.
One day the clocks will stop, and time won't mean a thing

Hi everyone & Happy New Year :T

I have been AWOL over Xmas & New Year so have been catching up with all the posts this morning.

Welcome to the newbies and nice to see some old faces back - especially frogga - we have missed you!

Thanks for all you hard work with the charts shala - wishing you all the best with your new weight-loss programme - SW can't work for everyone!

Didn't do too badly over the holidays weight-wise - I put on 1lb but seeing as I was under my target by 3lb that is all fine ;)

Nice to catch-up with you all :).

Yes, am on EE and have HEXed milk and bread.

    SS soup is as follows:

    1 can mixed bean salad
    1 can green lentils
    2 cans chopped tomatoes
    1 can baked beans
    Handful of split lentils
    2 large leeks
    1 large onion
    4 medium carrots
    2 parsnips
    Green, red & yellow pepper
2 beef or chicken or vegetable stock cubes
    Salt pepper
    Mixed herbs
Water (enough to cover all ingredients)

I got 6 portions out of that. Is that not enough SF?

Can someone please clarify for me that all the foods I've bolded are SF and as such, the soup is at least 50% SF foods, considering the weights of the non-tinned vegetables?
