    Evening all,

Interesting to see that quite a few of us have experience of various other diet plans. I can definitely say that the SW way is the only one I could see me doing for life. Once you're in the 'groove' and know basic/regular syns or allowances, it does become second nature quite quickly. The fact it encourages you to cook so much from scratch is another thing in it's favour.

I'm in this for the long-haul, so have a long term plan this time around of allowing myself 1-2 years to reach the target I want to be at. I feel that once I've shifted the first stone or two, I will feel much more able to exercise, which should help me lose the next few. I do still have a slight problem still with one of my knees, that I know is being aggravated by my weight, in another stone or so it should be fine.

Well this evening I've had a bit of a heated conversation with my OH re. SW. He's got a new starter at his work, who told him that his wife had lost weight recently at a club. Mo OH asked if it was SW, and it turns out she's at my SW group, and he told him about me going there, we must know each other, etc., and they obviously described each of us. I'm not quite sure why, but this has really rattled my cage tonight. I don't make it public knowledge I'm at group. I don't know any of the other members, rarely go out locally so don't bump into any, and like to keep my business to myself. We live in a small town, where 'locals' really do like to know everyone else's business. I'm not local, despite living here a while now, but I have always been quite discerning about who I like to mix with. This may make me sound really odd, or stand-off-ish, but it's just how I like to be. I'm actually quite sociable, but I do like to choose who I mix with. I was never one of those mums who stood in a big gaggle gossiping in the playground, and whilst I could pass the time of day with anyone, I had my own friends already, so never felt the need to look for more... any friendships have come by chance, and most of my friends are of long-standing. I also have a good radar for people, and I just 'know' this other lady is not my kind of person, although I'm sure she is lovely... just not for me. :o

The other part to this is that my SW journey is mine alone, I have only told 1 other friend I am doing the plan, and my sister who goes along with me obviously. That's how I like to keep it, I don't like to broadcast the fact that I am trying to not be mobidly obese, and that I want to stop stuffing my face. OH really couldn't see this as a big problem, and didn't see why I was so upset, and why him telling other people should be a problem either.

Am I being a loon? It could be a bit of PMT making me a little bit sensitive, but I could feel the hairs on the back of my neck go up when he said it, and I was immediately irritated about him talking about it to strangers.

Does anyone else feel like me, or am I really just a bit of a freak? (who this woman is probably going to give a wide berth anyway, because I have 'nutter' written across my forehead!)

I would be miffed too, I'm a fairly private person, not one to go on facebook all the time and tell the world what Im up to *rolls eyes*

I don't want you to think Im taking your husbands side, but do you think he wanted to confide in this friend at work for his sake. Having a partner who is slimming can be tough on the partner too, me and ex dh used to row sometimes because he felt sw controlled both of our lives so much.

I'm not saying this to be nasty, so please don't think that. I really don't think you are a freak!! If you've seen some of my recent posts you would think the same about me. Sometimes you just need to sound off - that is why I love this thread so much!!

sary.. you sound exactly like me! hate anyone knowing 'my business' that's why I like this little thread.. you can be anonymous and post things you wouldn't normally share in group etc.. my sister calls me anti social, she's the total opposite.. I wouldn't even be her friend if we weren't sisters :rotfl:

Lol, I wish I had put it like that!!!

Mich I am the same with my sister I hate having to tell the group how I've got on and would love the moment to pass, my sister however has no shame in rabbling on for 5 mins about how great she is. I hate the limelight and somehow wonder how we are related. Your last comment about not being her friend if you weren't sisters made me roflmao!!! So very true for me too!!!

I would *hate* anyone knowing I'm doing SW apart from others who are doing it who I know (and you lot :D).

Some of the schoolyard mums are doing it with me and I set up a super secret FB group for us to talk/WI/laugh/moan about it as I would hate anyone commenting on my wall etc!

I had one of those days today:

Breakfast - Trimmed grilled bacon x 2, a poached egg and two plum tomatoes in their juice.

Snack - melon and kiwi and 2 alpen light bars (HEXB)

Dinner - Tuna pasta salad (1), velvet crunch (4), an apple and a mug shot

Tea was supposed to be pork steak, new potatoes and veg then muller toffee and pineapple chunks.

It ended up being pork steak, superfart soup, a piece of mackerel, pineapple, two carrots, muller toffee (0.5), half a slice of a small warbies wholemeal toasted with philadelphia lightest (3) and options (2) with HEXA milk.

I can't even tell you what happened. I just didn't feel like a dinner then I started picking so I tried to stay on track for an EE day and I think it went okay :rotfl:

I've been to SW clubs twice, and done it alone twice - successful while I was on it, not so much so when I fell off the wagon and life got tough for various reasons. Also did WW when I was at school (in the dark ages ie about 1978!) It wasn't points it was picking protein, carbs, and lots of veg and stuff.

SW will always be my 'go to' plan, it works and is designed for real life!

Are the Knorr stockpots free? I've only used it once before SW and thought they were nice but greasy so if they're free that would be great

Yes they are I tend just to use a cube x

Was going to be a Green day today but may need to change it as I've got my DD and DGD here at the moment and neither of them are keen on beans and I'd planned Tuscan bean casserole from the Oct SW mag.

I'm going to make the casserole for me and DH and if they don't want it I'll have to rustle something else up - no idea what though as need to go shopping so may just be something like cold meat, potatoes & veg!

    So today's plan is:

B - Magic porridge, topped with banana slices
    L - Egg, chip & pepper bake
    D - Tuscan bean casserole.

Just a quick one from this morning...

A STS from me this week. Totally expected (and in fact i was expecting a gain) so have no one to blame but myself :( but still a bit annoying. 6lb lost in total from the 46lb i need.

    Todays menu
B - baked oatmeal (heb), banana
    L - chicken salad, dressing (2)
    T - lasagne, salad, pickles
    S - apple, almonds (6)

Milk is in the two recipes for Baked oatmeal and lasagne so HEA.

    have a good day xx

    a 3 lb loss for me please 2b :j

so happy with that specially since I had a STS last week. Here is to a new great week  (toasting with a coffee ofcourse, lol)

Going EE today as I fancy making lentil soup for lunch and I have some chicken casserole left over from last night.

I also need to go shopping, ran out of eggs, bacon, fruit and fresh veg and lean mince and sausages and going to buy some Knorr stockpot thingies to try, I usually use Marigold stock powder, I love that stuff.

Better get moving, busy day ahead. Have a great day and be kind to yourself :T

p.s. did anyone see the programme weight loss ward last night? I thought it was very interesting specially that girl who lost so much with a gastric band which had to be removed and she gained 10 stone back in 2 years! She then got a stomach bypass and lost it again. For me it's even more reason to do it on my own and learn how eat properly for ever, I couldn't go through that.
