Just ordered a freezer which DH is going to pick up in a min so I need to reorganise my kitchen and sort some room in the conservatory as something's got to go in there. Decorations are now down so getting back to normal.

    Morning (ahem, nrly afternoon!) flypeeps!

I forget, are weekend lists posted here, or do we just do our own? If not, I'll post mine when I get back - I'm off out to get a spray mop so I can quickly clean the floor after My Boy (a tibetan terrier) redecorates it with his paws :rotfl: which should help me fly.

Just popped in to say HAPPY BIRTHDAY ROXY I hope you have a lovely day.

I will be back Monday to clean but for now I am sat watching carp on the sofa.

Best intentions have been scuppered, but in a nice way - friends phoning to catch up, which has made me feel loved! Have decided to declutter the top of the stairs instead of a cupboard, as it needs doing more, am about to start on that.

Re CBT - I struggled for years to 'teach myself' CBT, but went on a LIFT course recently (both online and to a group) which was a huge help to me. I realised I was doing it all wrong, trying to change my way of thinking, when what I needed to do was change my way of doing! I still slip up, but I don't beat myself up quite so much now. The people 'teaching' the course were so lovely and I'd definitely go again for a 'booster' session when I need.

Right, off for a HH Declutter. Catch you all later!

Our daughter suffers with severe depression and OCD. I started to talk to people about it and I'm amazed at the number of people who then say they suffer as well and what a relief it is to be able to talk about their experiences without feeling judged.

Why there should be such a stigma about mental illness I don't know. It's totally illogical but the only way I can see to change things is to talk about it.

OCD can be controlled but it's quite a long journey. Reading through the responses on here there's a lot of support. Please let us help if we can and let us know how you get on

I am a fellow OCD sufferer myself. I eventually opened up to close family and friends about it and I was suprised at how many people did similar thimgs to me. They made me feel I shouldn't be ashamed.

I have a very supportive doctor who was great, I have been put on a very low dose of a particular medicine and it has thorougly changed my life, the symptoms just reduced on their own so much.

Try to talk to people you trust and find a good doctor who really understands, if you don't get on with him/her, try another, you will get there!

Thank you for all your help. I have never spoken to any of my family/friends about my OCD and its been over 25 years now. I have changed doctors recently so will see how I get on next week.

Anyway on a positive note I completed the NY ironing challenge go me!:T it was about the only thing i did though!

Found out this week that my DD is expecting another baby girl, so I will be granny to 2 beautiful DGD's. How exciting, baby is due in May :j

Ok I'm at 'paid' work and my coffee break is now over, so back to it!

Have a good day, try to keep dry, its absolutely horrible here!
