faulty Hudl tablet, no receipt

Maybe email clubcard and ask for proof that you bought a hudl on the date in cash and see if they can provide confirmation you can print out and take on store? This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0

If all you are wanting is an exchange then generally you will not need a receipt. If you are looking a refund then they may push for a receipt or some other evidence of when and where an item was purchased but, as others have said, a HUDL is only sold form one place and is obviously less than 1 year old.
Be careful though with some tablets. Plugging them into a USB port may not charge them since the port does not supply enough current, similarly many USB chargers are limited to 500mA which will not charge some tablets.35, semi retired, sun, sand, sea, life is good

OK, still no receipt, but we do have the clubcard and a bank statement from that date. The only problem is I know we bought the Hudl plus a some other items, so the value is approx £8 more than the Hudl cost.
The bank statement does show a reference number for the transaction.
Finally, whats the deal with packaging. This was bought in October so the box/packaging is long gone?
Thanks
Hi i purchased an item and had to return it due to a fault after a few months, and Tesco did accept it without the packaging, but i had the receipt.0 -
There's little point in taking your Hudl back to the store, they don't deal with returns, there is a dedicated freefone number that does it (listed on the receipt, not that that's any help to you). Give them a call on 0800 323 4060 and explain about the lack of receipt, I would expect them to sort out an exchange for you - they send a courier with the new one and pick up the old one.0

I'm not certain this is true as I receive a booklet of clubcard vouchers every month and they are tailored to my purchases so they must be able to link the clubcard to the items that I have bought.
But that's not in question (se post 25)!
Whether they would do that to prove I bought a hudl however is very unlikely.
That's the point the OP wants 'proof of purchase' Clubcard cannot not provide that, they may be able to help other depts. by providing a date & time of transactions that fit the value. But I again repeat they (at the call-centre) cannot see what you bought.I used to work for Tesco - now retired - speciality Clubcard0 -

Call centre may not be able to provide it but the data is available. The call centre can escalate to the IT department who can then retrieve what items were purchased against that clubcard on that date and then provide evidence back to the call centre that the customer has bought a hudl.
Whether they will do this is debatable but to say that a clubcard cannot be used to provide proof of purchase is factually incorrect because tescos IT databases will contain which items have been bought against that clubcard. It's just not readily available to the call centre staff. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
I wonder whether a Subject Access Request would be worthwhile for the OP. As their data is identifiable with their unique clubcard number, Tesco should supply it if requested.
When I log in to Tesco online I can see my most purchased products.. therefore the information is available to the marketing/web/IT department.0 -

Seems like they may be having rather more problems with Hudls than they would like - my second one has started exhibiting the same symptoms as the first one (non-responsive screen) and when I called today they said they have stopped sending out replacements and instead they are issuing a returns number so that customers can take the faulty equipment back to a store.0 -
Please, re-read what I put. I repeat, Clubcard do not have the facility to see what you bought, only the total value of the transaction, the store, date & time, and how many CC points.
Even if it wasn't exactly £119.00 a transaction in that region may stand out from other ones to no which was which.
I then advised you other ways/depts. that may be able to help in that respect i.e. the 'you' you refered to is not Clubcard.
I can read thanks, but others are contradicting you...
As for the return rate, no surprise, archos had issues with their own tablets before they started making them for Tesco's0 -
visidigi :
? contradict - I wouldn't say 'others' as most 'hedge there bets'; but then nobody's said 'I work in-store and we can see ..... '.
The OP hasn't posted any updates ... !?
What was found in 'my clubcard account' ?
What did the Electrical/Technical Helpline say?
What did Clubcard say ?
Have they tried any of the other advice here?I used to work for Tesco - now retired - speciality Clubcard0
