There have been a few posts on here about losing proof of purchase and Tesco being able to look up what was purchased via the clubcard statement, so I'm guessing they must have a record of what you bought.

Tbh I don't see a problem with custardys post. It was a valid point raised in response to another post.

I find that really hard to believe. It's the whole point of shopping analytics, otherwise how does club card know how to target vouchers for example?

Shopping data metrics is big business now and the club card records everything you buy, in what quantity, frequency and price...

On the grand scale of things sure, but I repeat Clubcard do not have the facility to see or tell you what you bought in any transaction - though the CSD at the store may think so!

If for example you had lost a recent receipt i.e. a week ago, Clubcard could tell you the time of the transaction, and the store could reprint it. I think also the Customer Service helpline (not for the store), may be able to do an archive search - but I don't know what the timescale that is on.

So you can't tell me what I bought, but if I give the clubcard details and the time/day of the transaction you can reprint a receipt.

    Whats on the receipt? Nothing?!?!

Surely the receipt you reprint tells me what I bought! ;)

Right, to clear up a few things:
    * With the time, value & date, it's possible to lookup your transaction pretty easily.
    * With the value of the Hudl, details from the reciept will definitely be required to get anywhere. As it's over £20, any refund/ exchange needs to be countersigned by the duty manager and filled in on CSD for the store to get credit back. Anyone who does a refund/ exchange without taking the full details etc. will be murdered :)
    * If no transaction details are available, you'd be directed to the Electrical Helpline. As this is a Tesco product, and very close to the release date, they'd probably issue an authorisation number for CSD to use in an exchange/ refund without too much hastle, but equally they may offer a post-in repair.

Off the top of my head, reciepts are easily available for 6 months, and I believe it's possible to retrieve reciepts from longer ago.
The Clubcard helpline would be able to see you'd bought a Hudl and from which store if you used your Clubcard, but IIRC they don't have access to specific transactional details without submitting a HelpDesk ticket to request these.

Please, re-read what I put. I repeat, Clubcard do not have the facility to see what you bought, only the total value of the transaction, the store, date & time, and how many CC points.
Even if it wasn't exactly £119.00 a transaction in that region may stand out from other ones to no which was which.

I then advised you other ways/depts. that may be able to help in that respect i.e. the 'you' you refered to is not Clubcard.

I'm not certain this is true as I receive a booklet of clubcard vouchers every month and they are tailored to my purchases so they must be able to link the clubcard to the items that I have bought.

Whether they would do that to prove I bought a hudl however is very unlikely.

As above - Clubcard most definitely have knowledge of buying habits etc (it's the whole point of it after all) but it's debatable whether that information is available to store staff.
Nothing I say represents any past, present or future employer.
