faulty Hudl tablet, no receipt

Hi,
We bought a HUDL tablet for our youngest back in October after they were first launched.
It has been great for a few months but now it has stopped charging.
I've tried various mini usb cables and chargers and none will charge the tablet.
We've searched high and low but cannot find the receipt and my wife believes she paid for it in cash.
Can anyone advise if we have any rights at all. The HUDL was only released August/September 2013 so it's not possible to have had it longer than that.

Well you have rights, but if you can't prove you purchased the Hudl you're going to struggle exercising them. Check your bank statements just to be sure it wasn't purchased with a card.0

You're really going to be at the mercy of the retailer without any proof if purchase. You could try the manufacturer instead if no joy.
You say it could not have been purchased more than a few months ago, which is true, but the problem will lie in that you have no proof it was bought at all (aka not a stolen product)0 -
Did you use a Clubcard? - Tesco can look up transactions from that.0

They were only released late this year, they are only sold by one company, there shouldnt be any issue even without a receipt0

I've never understood why manufacturers use micro/mini usb for charging, the sockets always break.[SIZE=-1]To equate judgement and wisdom with occupation is at best . . . insulting.

Check what charger you are using. We've recently been given a tablet by a relative and thought we could use any micro-USB cable and adapter plug to charge it; but it turns out that it only gets a full charge when using the correct plug (something to do with Amps). So try and find your original plug & cable and use that ... Might still not work, in which case I'd expect Tesco to resolve it for you.:heartpuls Mrs Marleyboy :heartpuls

The sockets only break if something is done to cause the break, they don't spontaneously just snap themselves. If it is accidental/physical damage then with or without the receipt you have no rights under SoGA.0 -

As it is Tesco I expect they will provide a solution for the OP, but your reasoning is not valid as a general rule. If it was, that would allow sometime to steal something and then exercise rights against the retailer!0 -

To solve the issue of having a different charger for every phone available that we suffered during the 90's and early 00's!
Saying that, we've been using micro USB since 2007 and never had a tablet or phone stop charging. Im guessing your being too rough putting it in the hole.0 -
Hi, yes we will have used the clubcard. I'll pop in tomorrow with it.
