Old lady slippers. Ankle deep, fur trimmed.

Still, at least the cat has had some fun trying to kill them.
I love the description of those warm slippers!

OK, I live in a very draughty old house, and today I discovered I've started menopause. Flame me.

    Nope.

It is from a comedy series, though.

I love these sort of threads they always give me a laugh :-

My most amusing one was given with the best of intentions....A few months back I said to my MIL what a lovely perfume she was wearing, what brand was it (thinking potential birthday gift for her)

Yes, she bought me a bottle for Christmas since 'I obviously liked it so much'. As hubby said 'it' s a nice fragrance but I don't really want you smelling like my mum!':rotfl:

The thought was there though :p

The Lovely Fella got a gift wrapped Brussels Sprout. He loved it.

Bonus points for anybody who recognises the TV series reference there...

Does it have anything to do with Eddie and Richie? ;)

ohhh... My MIL got me the doozy of all naff and awful presents this year LOL!

Now i don't want to sound like a snob BUT my decor in my house is calm, neutral colours (eathy tones and all that LOL) and my living room is white with pale sage green accents - i like country style/shabby chic and vintage.

So what possessed her to think that something similar to the monstrosity in the link below would be nice in my living room, don't know!!! The actual one is twice the size (would fill a fireplace) and is neon pink with tall black spikey bits - and yes, it has flashing lights. (Sorry if this offends anyone who has one, lol!)

I wouldn't mind so much but she asked my hubby what i would like - and i suggested a Lush gift set. So i went over expecting my lovely smellies and got that. And then hubby, when we got home, was like "u dont like it, do you" and then i felt so bad and now i have it on display. :(

:eek: Haven't you got a really powerful vacuum cleaner that just runs away with you and accidentally rams into things until they are broken beyond repair?? Every home should have one (the vacuum cleaner I mean, not the -erm - thing.)

    Yes!

Yup you are officially Rock n Roll :D
  • I bought my grown up son a pack of loo rolls.

A few months ago he left home and only lives around the corner. He's always forgetting to buy loo rolls and comes round and nicks ours.

The house he lives in only has a bath, not a shower. He prefers to have a shower so often comes here for one. Think we'll move house away from him. :D
  • An AGA cookbook.

    I don't have an AGA.

A pair of dangly earrings from a friend. When I opened them she said "I know you don't wear dangly earrings" (she's right, I only ever wear studs). Which I thought was very strange - why give someone a present that you know they won't want, and actually tell them you know they won't like it? Most odd. I'm also extremely allergic to nickel so wouldn't be able to wear them anyway (which she also knows).

Same friend bought me a big Union Jack canvas picture for my last birthday. I'm Irish. I gave it back to her and suggested she put it up in her own house. I felt a bit mean but it was the second Union Jack themed present she'd bought me and I thought it was best to nip it in the bud...
