A bottle of Baileys - fantastic, except I knew it was the bottle that I had given her last year, as she'd told me a couple of months ago that she still hadn't drunk it, it was in her shed and thought she was going off it!!!
Other gifts this year include:
A bin for the bathroom (which I really like!)
A can of De-Icer for the car (useful I suppose)
Some WD-40 (?!)
A large old purse in pink, no labels (they like car boot sales)
Car air freshener (it's not even my car, it's my OHs)
Teabags.
Oh well, it's the thought that counts!!!!!?!!!!!
I did buy someone a can of de-icer as a 'thank you' for giving me a lift home one evening. She ran out de-icing the windscreen and I thought it would be a nice gesture. I brought it into work the following morning.
But seriously, a can of de-icer as a Christmas gift? !!!!!!? Don't know what I'm doing, but doing it anyway... :huh:0 -

I have an Aunty who used to always buy us sticker books of flags of the world, or capital cities, we never rushed to open them.
I think there should be a vote for the worst gift this year. My vote world go to the shared mug and gloves. Bless you all for your contributions xxx
My vote would go to the person who received a Tesco's Value shower gel! I mean, that's got to be taking the !!!! surely?! :rotfl:0 -

And sometimes, it would be nice to have something, no matter how awful or cheap, to open on Christmas Day.
my favourite christmas pressies this year (as we don't gift between adults in my family, except from and to my mum), were the ones i bought myself - 2 items from Clinique, ordered online with free samples, and each gift-wrapped so beautifully i've kept the boxes and all the wrapping.
this thread has made me chuckle - hologram kitten picture wins so far for me :rotfl:!0 -
A bag of dried apricots from the MIL0

kerri - that's a wonderful idea; would they take that sort of thing? I have a lot of christmas chocolate I can't eat and that would be a great way to pass them on to someone that might enjoy them.
(Normally I just keep them for a bit then put them in the common room at work.)
I think they will, I know they aren't the kind of ting listed on food bag 'shopping lists' but I did ask our local one if I could drop in some Christmas biscuits and chocs last year and they welcomed them. Might be worth checking first but I don't see why people wouldn't be allowed a little treat just because they have been forced to a food bank, esp at this time of year too.
Loving this thread, shame we can't do a mass meet up to display the gifts mentionedFeb 2015 NSD Challenge 8/12JAN NSD 11/16

DH's Parents got a 4+ jigsaw for DD1 when she's nearly 6. And DD2 got a wooden jigsaw set for a 2+ year old when she's 3 1/2 and can do 6+ Jigsaws.
Neither looked too impressed. What's yours is mine and what's mine is mine..0 -
Little Hotties, can be purchased for as little as 30p each on ebay. Absolutely fantastic for cold hand sufferers. Those clicky things are useless.
Sorry to butt in - am enjoying this thread! The little hotties you mention - are these the ones that you click and then have to boil for about three days to get them to work again. Someone I know has tiny little wheat filled hand warmers which you put in the microwave - that sounds better. Where can I get these and what would they be called - thank you0 -

They're very easy to make- I used old t shirts, sewed almost all the way around a 4- layer pile, filled in between the middle two layers with value rice and sewed up the top. No turning right way or hemming as it's jersey (and you must use 100% natural fibre fabric in case it melts!) and they took about 30 minutes to make two pairs. Cost about 15p for the rice; the jersey was free! Mine take about 30-40 seconds in the microwave.
Idea from PinterestThey call me Dr Worm... I'm interested in things; I'm not a real doctor but I am a real worm.0 -
Oh, and mine were blokey, for Dad and brother presents so were dark grey rectangles. Those hearts ^^ look so purty but I'd worry about the felt being synthetic and melty...They call me Dr Worm... I'm interested in things; I'm not a real doctor but I am a real worm.0
