  • This is just what I need in my life for 2014.... Organisation. Therefore please may I join you all? A great post from Fire Wyrm which rings very true with myself. I always think I'm on top of things but really I could be doing so much more and so 2014 will be the year I will get stuff done!!!!

So for me the first job is to sort the overflowing ironing pile. At the moment it resembles the Tower of Piza and when there are only 2 peeps living in the house this is pretty bad.

Wishing you all a happy new year

    Great Idea

This is similar to a principle I heard of called bookending, where you tell someone you are going to do something, you do it and then follow it up with a 'i've dont it message'.

So for me this week -

I'm going to print off the groupon vouchers I haven't used -
ok change that to find/order new inkjet cartridges:mad:
Contact 2 friends I've not been in touch with over Christmas
Declutter one area of my (very cluttered) house
    & attack the ironing pile
Debt -it's a fight that I'm winning, dealing with debt one day at a time.
    Estimated DFD August 2018 - 2031 - now 2027 :T

Can I join in too please:

This week I am going to:

1: Start tracking my spending by keeping a log of all purchases made. EDIT; Have downloaded an App onto my phone for this purpose.

2: Look at ways of selling things, I have some clothes which are brand new and still have the labels on them which I could probably sell if I knew how to go about doing it.

3: Tidy my house up so it is in a more presentable state

4: Attempt to make it clear yet again to OH that he NEEDS to contribute financially if he is going to continue living in this house as I cannot single handedly continue to support myself, him, 3 children and 4 cats on my salary. EDIT: Have had the conversation with him this morning so we'll have to see if he keeps his word and lets me have some money by the end of the week as he has promised.

5: Apply for a loan for a travel pass from work as this will same me money in the long term. Will do this on the 6th when I go back to work.

6: Start taking my lunch to work.
loobylou2.Proud to be dealing with my debts and aiming to sort out the mess in 2013!!!!

    Hi treasure013 and everybody,

Please may I join? I want to get more done this year too and did a similar challenge to this in the past. Remember feeling much better at that time. Will be back tomorrow with a plan. Thanks.

Oooh I love this idea! I am definitely a 'to do list' person. Without writing one each week I literally get nothing done! So writing it on here means I may actually do it! So for the last 4 days of this week I will:
    1) Do my ironing (my pile is HUGE!)
    2) Take down my Christmas decorations
    3) Count my change jar and pay what I can of it into the bank
    4) donate my left over foreign currency to Oxfam - the amount isn't worth sending off to get cash back, I've checked.
    5) Back up all of the stuff and photos on my laptop as I have been putting this off for years
    6) Use up my 100 free listings on ebay

I think that is enough for me for 4 days!
