Oh DC, please come back to the CE thread, I need you to hold my hand :D I wont be giving up tea or coffee, just trying to cut out the sugar :)

OK, OK I will come back I promise! I am all for avoiding sugar. I must admit that I am really surprised by how much better I felt last week when I wasn't eating bread or any other rubbish. I can give up most things but I like a cup of tea in the morning and a proper coffee a few times a week.Besides I love going out with my husband for a coffee at the weekend and don't want to give that up. I am prepared to drink black coffee though and don't have sugar in tea or coffee anyway. I also like a drink at the weekend. Not a great deal two small glasses of wine or a malibu and diet coke, but it is something nice to look forward to.

Well the last week of Jan is off to a flying start.

Tomato and chickpea soup, with a cheese and ham wrap.
Carrot sticks and an apple to munch on for a snack.

Having to be a little more organised now as there are now 4 adults working full time in our house and don't want the boys!!! raiding the fridge the minute they get through the door and raiding the fridge for stuff I'd earmarked for dinners.

Hats off to you I struggle to organize my own ltw.. let alone 4. Wow. Your soup sounds lovely too is there any chance you could share the recipe please.

Thanks for the link w2bese. You are doing a brilliant job of keeping the thread updated and us all motivated. So thanks ever so much. This is by far my favorite thread on mse.

I am here to report 18\21. Hm soup, cereal bar, apple and banana. Am wrestling with my conscience about weds as I am in an all day training course with my colleague and we are thinking of cheering ourselves up by going out to lunch. I could just have coffee but.... I don't want to:o
Will decide and let you know tomorrow.

#81 now on 15/16 as of today.

Today's lunch was smoked salmon sandwich, grapes, nectarine, clementines.

I've got the same for tomorrow. A friend who fishes gave me the salmon, he'd had a freezer malfunction and all his lovely home smoked salmon had thawed. It's absolutely delicious!

OK so for today we have the lovely potatoe and cheese salad, with a yoghurt and a few chocolate buttons salvaged from the big bag last night as an afternoon treat.

This recipe is quick, easy and cheap and can be tweaked to your taste.

2 cans tomatos (chopped or whole)
            1 can chickpeas
veg stock about a pint (more can be added if too thick at the end)
I normally add a good dollop of Worcester sauce and soy sauce as well as some mixed herbs. I'm afraid I'm not good at measuring I just go by eye.
Then any other flavouring you fancy. Curry, Chilli etc
Sometimes I swap the chickpeas for red lentils for a change.

Bring to the boil and simmer for about 15/20 minutes then I normally leave to cool a little before blitzing (this is because I normally manage to splash it everywhere)

If too thick then I normally add some more liquid.

You can then either eat straight away or portion up for lunches. I've found that the screw top beaker type containers are an ideal size for a portion and most can be put in the microwave. However can I suggest that you just rest the lid on the top rather than leaving screwed up tight like my Step son did yesterday lol
