Do you really have to buy entertainment passes at the Butlins sites ?0

I have been to Butlins in Minehead 3 times with the Sun now. We find it fantastic as there is so much included like the swimming pool, funfair and all of the shows.
We're going this April in the second week of half term half board in a silver room and it is £268.00 for all 3 of us. To book on the Butlins website for exactly the same deal is £408.00.
We've done self catering before but found we ate out all the time so didn't use the facilities though food is expensive there and at least with half board it's prepaid and all you can eat with a huge variety of food.
Also the silver rooms are nearest to the Pavilion less than 5 minutes whereas silver self catering is right at the back of the site so a good 15-20 minute walk.
I've only been to the Butlins in Minehead but it's amazing, I'm 27, my boyfriend is 30 and our daughter is 7 so it's great for any age really.
Hope this helps
It's really helpful. Thank you so much. Can I just ask one more question. Do you automatically get assigned the silver apartment or is there an option to upgrade as you pick dates. Thank you again.0 -
Has anyone booked a European sight before?? Thinking of Southern France in June, and as far as I can make out from the leaflet I got with my priority reference, it will cost £19 pp & £49 service charge (£7 pupn), no charge for facilities pass, for a 7 night break. Does this sound right? Will there be additional costs for bed linen etc? As there has been in the past with uk breaks that I have booked! Also, are European breaks typically available in June or July? Thanks in advance
I've been on two European Sun holidays, both in the Vendee region of France. One was at the end of July (2010), the other was at the end of Aug (2011). I think that we booked the Aug one in the April promotion but pretty sure that we booked the July one in the Jan promotion, in 2010. Possibly things have changed. Hey ho, fingers crossed anyway, as hoping to get across to Brittany for a week.
The amount you quote sounds right for the accommodation alone. This doesn't include linen hire if you want it (we take our own), or travel insurance, or of course the cost of the ferry. We do the western crossing Plymouth-Roscoff, which from memory is about £200.They deem him their worst enemy who tells them the truth. -- Plato0 -
Hi, I live in the south east and I'm looking for park recommendations. Hubbie and I will have a little one in a few weeks time, so where would people suggest going that isn't a very long drive (due to regular stops for feeding the baby), has nicer accommodation, and things to see and do in the area? We don't need to worry about children's facilities and entertainment as baby will be too small. Thanks for your help.Don't listen to me, I'm no expert!0

Could I ask if when booking online using the Priority Booking Reference does it show you if there is availability for your first choice Park & Dates before you commit to paying or are you committed to pay straight away?
Unfortunately from my point we need a Wheelchair Access Caravan (Very Limited supply) & you cant state this at the time of booking either! You have to make a booking, then contact them via a contact form to tell them this within 48 hours, then they will try to book one for you....in the meantime of course they could get booked up! Also hardly any Wheelchair Access Caravans are Basic units so you always end up with a large supplement to pay too!
Many Thanks - Avenue0 -
