  • My first post for January, not off to the best start, bought a new pair of work trousers yesterday, plus beauty spends over the £10 limit I'm afraid NSK but I had a giftcard and money from Xmas.

Then today I forgot my lunch, so have used my £5 already! The annoying thing is that I had gone to the shops and brought loads of snacks and food for the month to be organised. I'm going to stock my desk draw so i don't get caught out again!

I know you said we can't eat out, I've got 2 meals out this weekend and on Monday night for my b'day (2 of them I won't have to pay for!) Not so good for the old waistline though, already gained a few lbs over xmas. I'm now desperate to do exercise so hopefully will squeeze a session in tonight and tomorrow.

    EH xx

Not bad so far, but I think I will go over on the groceries this month as we have next to nothing in. But it will mean I have plenty in next month so should be under my target.

    Hi Everyone!

Well the Asd4 shop will be delivered tonight, so I will start my baking as there is no treats in this shop-and the kids MAY notice
I was up bright and early as the sun was out and did the 30 minute shred (exercise) and some tidying :). I don't go back to work till tuesday, so am making the most of it. Today has also been a NSD :T

beckiboo-you must be so proud of your daughter.

MrsGSR-I know how your feeling to some extent. You ARE doing so well though. I have 3 boys ,one girl. Only with my 3 boys did I get PND. With my now 5 year old, it was dreadful. It did not help that I split from their father during the pregnancy and had to return to work when he was 8 months old. I too suffer from SAD big time. Holidays for me have always featured in my yearly routine as I needed them to function. Please look after yourself. I'm glad you are doing the challenges, as it gives you a distraction not related to home iyswim? Can I say, I find your signature very inspirational, the way you have chopped away at your debt :T

This year, I will not be having a holiday and I am trying so hard to make it through. I am planning for next year though ;) I am super determined to just be debt free and be done with it by december and that is what is stopping me really.

To all those at work, I hope the day goes quickly for you.

Good luck everyone and keep going :T

  • Hello all! I hope you are having a fruitful day!

BECKYBOO198? I am feeling very proud of your daughter! Behind great daughters, great mamas! :-)

Uffff just got back from TKmax! I have returned all the ski equipment I bought from them except one Oneils ski jacket for my daughter cos the ones in Aldi are too big for her! Initially, I was a bit embarrassed to take them back and I think my kids were too because my daughter said 'mummy, this is too embarrassing'!! Ha ha ha! But I did, and I bought them all from Aldi instead, saving me a wooping £160 that will go towards paying the ski trip insurance! I am so happy! My kids took pack lunches and drink so we did not spend anything in treats!

    SFD 2/20

I will succeed and you too!

    Regards
    No debts 🙌
  • SFD 2 quiet day in house today, my 7ft Christmas tree is now down, and completely wrecked, thanks to my naughty puddytat who got to the top then ran off with the fairy!!

I'm a little late, but can I join? I have had my hours reduced at work from 35 to 28 and could use some motivation to reduce my reckless spending :o

I only found this today so have spent both days, but I'm going to aim to get as close to 20 NSDs as I can. I have pledged 10 NSDs for the NSD challenge anyway...

I do the Grocery Challenge and my February budget (starts on 18th Jan) will be £200, so I'll put that down for now. I'm definitely meeting friends four times this month, so will only agree to other meetups if there will be no cost to me.

    1. SFD 0/20
    2. Food budget 0/£200
    3. Brand downshift 0/5
    4. Lunch to work 1/11 (projected days in the office this month)
    5. Arranged outings 0/4
    6. Exercise 1/15 (walk round the office grounds today)
    7. Petrol budget 0/£50
    8. Food bank donation 0
    9. Beauty spends 0/£10

I'm already debt-free but am in contract work at the moment so it's not guaranteed beyond the next few months. I have a holiday coming up (very low spend as my brother is paying for my flights!) so any spare pennies saved will go towards that.

    Look forward to joining you!

Just checking in with my first session of 20 minute exercise this week :) I walked around the playing field several times while the kids were in the park.
