  • Good Morning Hobbits....

How are we all this fine morning! I am sat in my virtually empty office again wondering why I bothered. However I am sure there are things I COULD be getting on with.......:)

So yesterday was very productive in the NSK household...
    • Big laptop working, everything re-installed, Camera dvd installed as well so I can learn to use it!!!
    • All my embarassing CD's on my ipod - they are now ready for the bin ( bound to be somewhere I can sell them even without cases)..
    • Pictures taken of vintage tea party items for eBay (there were loads and they all had to be unwrapped:o),
    • 16 people watching my two eBay items.......
    • Clothes washing done... (lots of clean knickers now)
    • Food made for today and stock take done... (which prevents me going to the banned canteen)
    • 3 x miscellansous drawers sorted and decluttered..(I have SO MANY PENS!)
    • Camera emptied of over 400 pictures and packed away with all accoutriments...
    • Make-up / Hair accessory drawer cleaned...(yes I have two drawers for this)....
    • British passport pictures found (phew!),
    • British Passport forms filled out and ready to go
    • AND.......:j:j:j pictures taken and uploaded onto a fitness page on Bookface of my REAL physique - not sucked in or anything AND in my undercrackers. This page is monumental in supporting people. I have realised it's not a "want" to get fit it's now a "need"... So far feedback has been very supportive (and yes I did not include my face in that picture...)
So supportive in fact that in 100 days I will be meeting one of the women on the page in London at a restaurant for a progress report/celebration.

Like my money-busting I have realised that if I make my plans public, the fear of failure is the amazing boost / kick up the a*se I need...:rotfl:It's time to ge real - lose weight instead of buying new clothes - however I do need new gym trousers.... BUT my membership will be cancelled tonight as there is a gym near by thats opened closer to my new flat which is £12.99 a month instead of £34.50...:j

    Siouxsie
how is that spring cleaning coming along?

Applemuncher how old is the DD?.. are there morning shows you can go to that are cheaper than normal rate in the evenings..?

    Beckyboo
what a lovely daughter you have - she has been brought up well!! What a wonderful outlook she has but is she saving? I realised that if I put away £50 a month from when I started working religiously I would have about £10,000 now..something my Mum always told me to do and I never had the chance...

CariadsNewStart - who would the gifts be for if you did go to Boots..? Do you have a plan or is this a "just in case" stock pile - do you actually like the people you would buy for cause I say just stop altogether..:rotfl:

Kat143, Luckystarr, Hummingbird, CrazyLady2009, Taranaman - you have all been numbered...

Taranaman - are you actually a man? I swear I am going to get all the boys to holler so I know this isn't just a club for the girls! More importantly - did you run for an hour in the rain??

TeaLover if you knew the amount of money I wasted on taking my test, letting my provisional run out twice, losing it, failing it and retaking it a further 4 times, failing my test twice and booking the third only to lose my counterpart licence and having my provisional run out AGAIN and finally passing it when I realised I was SO fed up I was actually very relaxed...you would cry! Worse that I went out a month later and paid £1000 for my motorbike license. Funny I passed that first time - maybe you should just get a bike?:T:T.... When is your test??

AvoGirly - He's ALIVE I tell you he's ALIVE! So how do you think he survived that feat of un-natural height and come away unscathed? He's one of those weird looking attractive men is our Mr Cumberbatch... but at least you got the £2 back...:p

TiptoesDB and anyone else that has OH and kids on board - a big Whoop Whoop for you! makes life a whole lot easier or at least if they recognise that crazy NSK rules are making a bit of a difference even if it does mean no more snacks to be bought on an SFD...:rotfl:

    LoubyLou - hugs..??

May I quickly say since I remember it that new Tescimo vouchers have come through and they have clearly recognised my VEGAN-ness and the vouchers reflect what I actually need now...:T

Right this is long enough - more from me later... Gonna go play with my spreadsheet... I put all my purchases on it from the 30th and it doens't half make you think whether you ACTUALLY needed something when you have to write them down in front of you...

    Onwards and Upwards!!!

    Morning all!
Beckyboo your daughter sounds incredibly sensible, no wonder you're proud.
Who was it who booked for Disneyland Paris in Feb 2015? I am still saving to do this in 2015 but I don't have enough money yet, it's my dream to take them next year and I'm saving hard but I'm thinking i need to book soon to get the accommodation I want. Makes me realise that I really should have started on this journey sooner. Hey ho.
I must admit I'm struggling with my depression and anxiety at the moment, the terrible weather has meant we haven't been able to go out anywhere and DH is working some ridiculous hours and I'm barely seeing him. I'm finding it incredibly hard and very lonely. Still I guess not having the routine of the school run doesn't help.
However, yesterday was a SFD, today I'm planning on taking DC to the library and building a den in the living room for them to play in.
I still haven't got round to working a few numbers out, I'll try and do that today as it might help sort my head out a bit.

    Morning everyone.

Today is not going to be a SFD :( I had to run to the shop this morning to buy stamps and an ink cartirdge - need to send some letters off that have to be printed and a birthday card. I stocked up on stamps so should have enough for a few months.

I do need some advice though please :/ My parents often spend their (little) money on my neices as my sister is useless and barely provides for them (by choice). This usually means they run out of money and ask to 'borrow' some from me. Do I say no or continue to help, though often this borrowed money doesnt get returned. I have tried to help them by my dad is long term poorly and my mum suffers from depression, so its hard going. What to do :/

I think you need to sit down with them and tell them your situation. That since money is short for you you would like to know exactly where that money is going and perhaps suggest ways they can make savings - or offer to do online research for cheaper items / outings / activites for her.

What do they spend the money on - are they in need of food or clothing or something else...? And how old is she and more importantly would you want to help out or not give them money at all unless it's guaranteed to be returned..

No judgement here by the way - speak your mind..

    SFDs: 1/20
    Food budget: £0/£240
    Brand downshift: 0/5
    Foodbank: £0/£3
    Exercise sessions: 0/15

Yesterday was a SFD, didn't even leave the house! Today won't be as I'll have hospital parking to pay for tonight so I'm going to buy BIL a birthday pressie and look for some new work trousers at lunchtime to make it worth losing a SFD.

It's comments like this that make me wish we were close enough to hug you! you are doing so well though with this and an OH who fights back now and then with food spends etc.. Are you on meds for your depression or do you think it's primarily brought on by OH's shift work and bad weather etc..?

  • Can I join too? Sorry to be so late. I couldn't find the new thread on New years eve, then I spent the day yesterday cooking xmas Dinner for 10 family members. I had everything ready to go for the new year, shopping purse, spread sheet.

I have the same debt amount you started with last December. You so inspired me to clear it, though I think it may take me 18 months. So Debt free target 10 August 2015, my birthday. :j
