Hi everyone. I cannot remember figures, but I have definitely not had more than 6 spend days this month. I have had a brisk walk of at least 20 minutes each day and have passed this months challenge on all fronts :j Sorry, really tired to do item by item
Well done everyone. See ya next month on the February challenge. Have a great weekend

Evening all. Checking in with SFD 18. Very pleased with that. I'm glad to say that I have stayed under most of my budgets - I went over on my beauty budget as I did need (as opposed to want) some stuff, and I had my hair cut on Wednesday - a friend cuts it for me so I am a bit restricted as to when I have it done - and it really needed a cut.
Anyway, enough wittering. It's been a long day and a long month. Will have to work out my budgets tomorrow.
See you on the other side - and good luck for the new challenge everyone!0 -
Final totals as per signature below - looking forward to zombie-bashing next month! Go everybody! :beer:0

Good Evening to you all!!!
Can you believe it's finally the end of The Janus Illusion!:p I can see so many of you have changed your own lives by reclaiming how you spend and what you spend it on! All I can say is CONGRATULATIONS!!!
Even if you had one extra SFD, spent £10 less that last month or better yet MADE £10 more than last month then congratulate yourself. It's a learning curve but for us that acutally chose to find MSE, the only way is up!!!
I am sat on my mattress in my room, the bed has been dismantled, the cupboards are empty, my clothes are in suitcases and Sports Direct bags and I am shattered.
For those of you who are not on my NSK Facebook page I posted a picture of my Australian Citizenship certificate which arrived yesterday. It's very pretty and I have already sent away for a passport application to arrive at my new house next week.
Paypal has £160 in it which will cover that cost of the passport and then some having blasted all my useless items on 99p bids and even managing to refund some items as the buyers were stupid and didn't read the "pick up only" part.
£60 spent on Doroty today at Pets @ Home with a new 1 metre tunnel, two scratchy mice to hang off doors, a feeding matt for under her dishes, a matt for outside her litter box and a small scratching post. I am determined to invest now in order to discourage the little furball from scratcing my new LL very expensive 6ft sofa.
Did I mention havng requested a new mattress in my room he has replaced the entire bed? Sent me a message to say he's looking forward to welcoming me and Mog into his home! That's what I call a proper landlord....
I still have money on my CC which will be taken down by my incoming deposit return but £1200 has been added to the travel fund.
It's been a LOOOON tiring month and I feel good about starting the new monthly challenge in a new house......
So I shall see you all on the other side. Good bye January..HELLO February!!!“Nothing in this world can take the place of persistence. Talent will not; nothing is more common than unsuccessful men with talent. Genius will not; unrewarded genius is almost a proverb. Education will not; the world is full of educated derelicts. Persistence and determination alone are omnipotent".0 -
Quick check in just before we head into February...
SFDs: Kinda lost count but came close to 20. My February spreadsheet has been updated to include SFDs so I have a clear idea next month instead of having to estimate.
Food budget: Went a little over but had a super healthy month. Will try harder next month to have both a super healthy diet and stay in budget.
Misc budget: I ended the month with £19.08 left However, it kinda balanced out the food budget overspend.
Exercise: Hurrah, I excelled here. I took a yoga class almost every day in January and feel fabulous for it. I'll definitely keep it up in February.
Food Bank: I have around £7 worth of food at home that I didn't get round to taking to the food bank. I'll make it a priority to do it early next week (adding February's contribution to it as well!)
I've had better months, but it wasn't a disaster. February will be better - I have to be super focussed as every penny is allocated and there is no room for error!
Phew, it was fab spending January with you all. See you in February0 -

Really surprised how recording my results focuses my mind, did manage to hit the SFD target but slightly over budget.. . . . need to start keeping a spending diary and also try to shop smarter as my budget was scuppered through running out of things midweek and having buy from the expensive village shop.
I tend to buy a lot of things from the Sainsburys 'Basics' range and noticed today that Sainsbury's have changed the packaging ....and jacked the prices up since last week - e.g. deodorant up from 35p to 41p, everything is slightly dearer - daren't look at the big branded prices - far too scary! . Belt will have to be tightened another notch to hit the target for February!
