I've been very good at posting but I have been keeping up with reading. Today I actually made money by selling a few toys. The money is now in my money pot.
I am thinking I will push my 'big shop' onto Saturday and another month, not sure what will be for tomorrow though!Seriously money saving0 -
Evening all,
Spend day today and it was on a lunch at workI didn't forget my lunch but had an 11.5 hour work day and a migraine, so just 'needed' warm energy rich food. Also didn't manage any exercise due to working late, however tomorrow is another day and I've got a gym session planned and hopefully going to use my birthday money to buy some comfortable running trainers
Sorry to hear your news missyv30

Oh no Missyv30, what rubbish news… poor you. RainbowBridge is right tho, you’ve done fantastic, try not to get too dispirited.
Well, hit my 20SFD total today, and finally took the day off sick as this never ending cold seems to have turned into a sinus infection and I feel totally rotten. Still ended up doing 6 hours of work at home on paperwork and admin so not a great rest. I am on leave tomorrow then off down south tomorrow night for our Nephew’s christening on Saturday. I really don’t feel up to it but we are godparents and the hotel is non-refundable so I guess we have to go!
DH’s payrise has kicked in to his Jan pay packet – an extra £40. Before I would have not even noticed that and now I am thinking that’s a week’s worth of food shopping – yeay!
Right, this will be ta ta from me, see you on the other side (Feb’s challenge that is!) – it’s going to be a blast! x

Evening all. SFD number 17 today. Went to the gym before work. Nothing else to report.
Will check in tomorrow. Looking forward to the new challenge!0 -
Finally caught up on the thread - good two days worth of reading as I have been so busy I haven't had many chances to post.
Pheonix congratulations on being debt free
Missyv30 sorry to hear about the extra you have to pay. Sometimes it feels like it's all going in the wrong direction, but at least you have had your LBM and therefore you know exactly what you are dealing with, hugs.
As for us good news from here is we have managed to rent OH's house out - yeh for a year at least. We had been trying to sell it for a couple of years but then decided we would keep it and rent it instead for a few years then review when the market picks up again. The rent will not quite cover the mortgage but it means we will no longer be paying the council tax or electric so save about £150 a month on that.

Hi everyone.
Super quick post, as I'm about to be off for work soon but just wanted to share the fact that CC 1 is gone :j :j :j I made my last payment just now, as it's pay day! I'm so proud of myself! My debt is finally, after many yearsgoing DOWN! Will update totals later!
Have a good Friday everyone and keep going!:A Your Always in my heart, you never ever will be forgotten-9/9/14:heart2:0 -
I can't believe how quickly January has finished. Time flies when you're a Janus warrior I suppose
My final tally for the month is:
SFD 15/20 This includes today as I got my food shopping yesterday and have no other plans to spend. I'm chuffed with this as a first attempt as when I joined I had signed up for the NSD challenge and only aimed for 10 there so I smashed my initial target.
Food £190.74/£200 This would have been even lower, but my cat's food was on offer in Morrisons yesterday at £4 and it's £5.49 everywhere else so I bought two bags :money: That'll keep him in dry food for most of February.
Downshift 3/5 Not great, but I don't really buy branded food anyway. I don't use Basics ranges, but mainly shop at Aldi for tinned goods anyway. I did downshift to basics tatties/peppers etc and that was fine, so I'll keep an eye on what else I can shift to.
Lunch to work 12/11 I'm now planning what I'm doing a lot better and have been using my weekends to make massive pots of soup to take with me to work. Thankfully I'm not easily bored and love a good thick soup
Outings 6/4 This is estimated and over plan. I'm not too worried about this one tbh as I don't go to things I can't afford and as I'm debt-free it doesn't feel quite as badI don't have a circle of friends who plan things a month in advance so I knew this was always going to be a big ask.
Exercise 18/15 Very pleased with this. I've been doing a lot of walking and on the days when I walk home from work (2 miles) I've been putting the bus fare in my sealed pot so it's been increasing my savings too.
Petrol £50/£50 Probably a budget I need to revisit as Mr Mooo has topped up the car already this month in addition to this, but that's because we had a trip planned I had forgotten about
Food bank £10/£10 Very pleased to find out I could donate to my local one online with cash and that they also get giftaid.
Beauty spends 0/£10 I'm not needing anything at the moment and the one thing I did buy (moisturiser as my old one ran out) I used Boots points for.
Thank you so much for this challenge NSK, it's really inspiring and has kept me on the straight and narrow this month. I'm already looking forward to February and figuring out where I can find my SFDs0 -
Missyv - that is a lot of money - you must be gutted.
